October 30, 200817 yr The past few decades of professional politicians has really worked out for us hasn't it H? :thumb: Give me 500 Palins, and we can have "Change" that makes sense. Obama is a power hungry liar. But hey, if the polls hold, he'll have the chance to prove to you how smart and effective his on the job training is for all of us... :thumb: I would hasten to add the adjective "corrupt" to your description of Obama. If the FEC does its job, Obama will be receiving a hefty fine for his fund raising efforts and many of his supporters will be looking at some criminal charges for vote fraud - and the election has not even been held yet.

If the FEC does its job, Obama will be receiving a hefty fine for his fund raising efforts and many of his supporters will be looking at some criminal charges for vote fraud - and the election has not even been held yet. Just so I understand - it it possible for vote fraud to occur prior to an election?
October 30, 200817 yr Just so I understand - it it possible for vote fraud to occur prior to an election? When non-Ohio residents who are in the state working on Obama's campaign staff cast early votes it is possible and it has already happened.
October 30, 200817 yr More blind partisan hatred on display from the left on parade. John Edwards was the Democratic VP candidate in 2004 and the third leading presidential candidate in 2008 and I do not recall liberals or the mainstream media bashing his credentials or belittling him for his popularity. I cannot recall such a thing happening because it didn't. Edwards was embraced by the far left as a serious candidate despite having no executive and very little legislative experience. Sarah Palin is the liberal's deepest fear - an intelligent, articulate, conservative woman who has broad appeal to voters and commands respect from those who have run against her (and lost) and who have worked with her to reform government. Hatred of any kind directed at any of these candidates is unfortunate and diminishes the person displaying such. If you think that hatred is only being displayed toward Palin, and not toward Obama, then you'd be mistaken. I certainly don't understand why people that do not personally know them can hate any of these candidates. It's fine to disagree with a candidate. It's fine to have serious concerns about aspects of a candidates personality, record, or readiness. Hatred, however, is entirely different.

Hatred is an appropriate explanation of the irrational attacks on Gov. Palin. The nasty, personal, and extremely partisan attacks on Sarah Palin began before most Americans had even heard her name. Hatred and the threat that Palin poses to liberalism is the driving force behind the criticism of Palin. This thread is not about Obama but I do agree that there is widespread hatred of Obama on the right and that hatred will grow if he follows through on his promises of "redistributive justice," establishing a national security force, overriding state abortion restrictions through federal legislation, and appointing like minded individuals to the US Supreme Court who have little respect for our Constitution.

I note you didn't bother to respond to the substance of my post (which clearly demonstrated Palin's inability to articulate a coherent understanding of the financial crisis in her interview with Katie Couric). I have no hatred for Palin, but I do condemn in the strongest terms this foolish belief that she belongs anywhere near the Presidency. She is an ill-informed lightweight and when she has come out from hiding behind her adoring fans and her handlers long enough to answer reasonable questions, she has shown that her command of the issues is ghastly. I don't have to defend John Edwards to justify my position that Sarah Palin is grossly unqualified to backup a 72 year old President.

Are you suggesting that BO does not in any way fit this same description?

October 30, 200817 yr Are you suggesting that BO does not in any way fit this same description? I won't just suggest it. I will come out and say it. Barack Obama is as well read and informed about major domestic and foreign policy issues as Sarah "talking point" Palin is clueless. There is a reason why undecided voters judged that Barack Obama handily won all three debates with John McCain in nearly every major poll. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/27/debate.poll/ http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5904352&page=1 http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/07/politics/horserace/entry4508356.shtml http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/08/debate.poll/ http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/15/politics/horserace/entry4525171.shtml http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/15/debate.poll/ http://www.idahostatesman.com/1419/story/540505.html

Barack Obama is as well read and informed about major domestic and foreign policy issues as Sarah "talking point" Palin is clueless. There is a reason why undecided voters judged that Barack Obama handily won all three debates with John McCain in nearly every major poll. I'm pretty well read, and won my share of debates back in the day... that does not necessarily qualify me to hold the highest elected office in the land. There is a much larger consideration that goes beyond reading, understanding and being able to articulate the information, and that is... what you do with the information you have. I personally am not comfortable with Mr. Obama's worldview and stated plans for remaking America to fit his vision of "Change." Thankfully, I am not alone. We do not need a big brother or uncle in Washington to take care of us. You are more than welcome to vote for and support him for whatever reasons you deem appropriate, but the fact is BO is not running head-to-head against Palin, his opponent for president in this election is McCain. Compared to McCain's experience and grasp of the issues, BO's inexperience shines brightly. I am impressed with Palin's character and worldview. I am confident she is a quick study who will get up to speed quickly as VP.

Are both hatreds equally wrong?
October 30, 200817 yr Are both hatreds equally wrong? Not IMO. There are logical reasons to fear and loathe a charsimatic politician who buys votes by promising to redistribute the wealth of the productive members of society among government dependents, whose campaign has and continues to engage in massive voter fraud, who is not shy about intimidating media critics through threats of retribution, who advocates a national security force, who says that all of us must be our brother's keeper while his own close relatives live in squalor, and who has used educational institutions and churches as a base for political power. I guess I just do not see any of the other three candidates as people worthy of fear and loathing - and before I am chastised for hating a fellow human being - let me clarify that I hate what an Obama presidency has in store for my country.
October 31, 200817 yr So, your hatred is not directed at him, but his policies, correct? That is what I said. Hugo Chavez may be a great family man but I would not want him as my president either.
