October 27, 200817 yr The 8 teams who make a BCS bowl will be: USC Texas Penn St. Alabama Florida UConn Virginia Okla St. There are actually 10 teams, right? The BCS Title Game is in addition to the big four (Rose, Fiesta, Sugar and Orange). Or am I wrong about that?
October 27, 200817 yr If 'Bama and Texas run the table there is no scenario where Penn State gets in the big game. If Penn State is the only unbeaten, there's no telling who'll get in the big game. It will likely depend on where the losses and wins come from down the stretch...for example, if Florida wins out and hands 'Bama its only loss in the SEC Title game, I think they'd have a great shot to jump over a Texas team that loses a game down the stretch. I found this on ESPN: "Nittany Lions fans are understandably disturbed by this, having seen their team go undefeated five times under Joe Paterno and win a national title in only one of those seasons. But the message seems clear: Unless Alabama loses or the Texas-Texas Tech winner takes a loss later in the season, Penn State will be bound for the Rose Bowl instead of the BCS National Championship Game.":scared:

No way you could justify picking them over an undefeated Texas or Alabama. No way. Like I said, it's a double-edged sword...the thing that might give PSU their best chance to get in is the thing that could also end up keeping them out. I still think they'll slip up and lose before the season is over.

This could be the season that kills the BCS.
October 27, 200817 yr Penn St- Texas..... I still believe UT has the better chance of going undefeated rather than Alabama.
October 28, 200817 yr Penn State/Texas Penn State/Alabama Alabama/Texas One of those three, but I'm not sure which..
October 28, 200817 yr As of right now, it should be Texas vs Bama/Florida. More than likely Penn St. will get the crap beat out of them by an SEC team or Texas.
October 28, 200817 yr Penn State vs. Texas/Alabama. I will go with Texas, I know that they still have murder schedule left plus a Big12 Title game in which they may meet and have to beat Oklahoma twice. All that against them I just still think they can do it. Should Bama end up unbeaten and we have three unbeatens then the outrage and crying will start from whoever is left out. I would absolutely love to see Georgia somehow get in there but I certainly don't look for it. I would like to see anyone but USC or Florida, just bc I don't like them. How's that for admitting it.

You are probably saying that bc of the Big10 being down and not as good of conference as the SEC or Big12. That is true enough, I certainly will not argue that but imo Penn State is a lot better than most are giving them credit for. I don't know if they could beat one of the other teams considered but they would certainly play them tough if not win it. JMO

JMO Penn State had a great opportunity Saturday night to show that they were not like Ohio State of the last two years and really put a drumming on OSU, they didn't. It is kind of like McCain needing months ago to say he is not George Bush. Penn State needed an impressive win over OSU to show the country they are much more superior. They didn't. Penn State does not deserve to be in the National Championship game. Just like OSU obviously didn't belong the last two seasons.

Texas couldn't play Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game....They're from the same division. That would be the equivalent of Georgia/Florida in the SEC title game.
October 28, 200817 yr I'm not a PSU fan, but how can you hate on the Nitany Lions and JoPa. LOL. Anyways, I think it will be Texas and Penn State. I'm a Florida State fan! I can only support one old man!
