Can you use teams involved in the Tiebreaker as points?

Yes you can. But you cannot count their wins against teams involved in the tie.

They have victories over:

 

Pikeville - 3 wins*Russell - 6 wins

 

Montgomery County - 2 wins

 

Boyd County - 4 wins*

 

Woodford County - 4 (qualifying) wins**

 

Greenup County - 2 wins

 

 

* Pending tonight's results

** Wins between any two teams involved in the tie can't be counted.

 

 

So does strength of schedule not matter at all? I mean 9 of Ashland's 17 points come against a single A team, and a AAA team. Let's say Bryan Station finished with 16 points, and all of them came against 6A and 5A teams, would that not matter?

Not for this purpose; all teams are equal. You can also count wins against out-of-state teams too.

One would think there would be some sort of multiplier to reward teams for taking on the tougher and bigger schools. But bigger doesnt always mean better either. Needless to say, Ashlands wins over Russell and Pikeville will go along way toward this tiebreaker if it were needed.

It's not perfect, but neither are computers. A win over Beechwood is larger than a win over Cooper.

I don't think this is right, BF. Based on past tie breaker results from prior years. If Team A, B and C are involved in a tie breaker, then A cannot count B or C in the tie breaker, and so on.

 

A has to use 4 other teams they defeated, not counting B or C.

 

In other words, Ashland can't count Woodford (even if you delete Woodfords wins against the other teams involved in the tie breaker)
