October 24, 200817 yr What would the reaction be if SNL repeatedly had a person making fun of Michelle Obama and putting her down the way they put down Palin? What would be the reaction if porn producers had open casting for Michelle Obama look a likes to produce a new porn called "Michelle O's O Face"? Would there be outrage? Why none for Palin?

October 24, 200817 yr Honestly, SNL's treatment of Palin hasn't been as bad as I thought they would be. With that being said, they will never make fun of Obama until after the election. They will not do anything to paint him in a bad light, I guarantee it. 1. They support him 2. A good portion of the media would accuse them of being mean spirited if they did Also, gchs is right, Michelle Obama is not running for office. However, it would not surprise me to see them make fun of Cindy McCain before the election. With the hatchet job in the NYT, I actually expect it this Saturday.
October 24, 200817 yr If you're completely honest with yourself, you'll see that of all the candidates, Palin is the easiest to mock.
October 24, 200817 yr If you're completely honest with yourself, you'll see that of all the candidates, Palin is the easiest to mock. Actually, with the things that Joe has said he has easily moved into that number 1 spot. I can't believe they didn't touch him asking the guy in the wheel chair to stand up or Jobs being a 3 letter word. Palin is an easy choice for them because Tina Fey looks so much like her and has the impression down pat.
October 24, 200817 yr If you're completely honest with yourself, you'll see that of all the candidates, Palin is the easiest to mock. 1. Palin is easy to mock and they have a great actor to do it. 2. McCain is pretty easy as well, and Darrell Hammond does a good job. 3. Obama is harder to mock, but the guy they have is getting better. The problem is that they don't have a black man that looks like Obama, which is something they do have with McCain and Palin.
October 24, 200817 yr 3. Obama is harder to mock, but the guy they have is getting better. The problem is that they don't have a black man that looks like Obama, which is something they do have with McCain and Palin. Fred Armisen is the guy who does Obama. I think he does a fairly good job. I just looked up what his ancestry is and it's half Japanese and half Venezuelan.

Palin is an easy choice for them because Tina Fey looks so much like her and has the impression down pat. They don't just choose to mock over who has gaffes. It's about the whole persona. When they do Biden it just doesn't get as many laughs as when they do Palin. She is just easier by virtue of her accent, her colloquialisms, seeming lack of intellect, beauty and the fact they have Tina Fey.

I think that answer is obvious.......three letters, NBC. Years ago SNL used to be funny, that was when they actually had talent on the cast of that show and obviously better writers. Now it is just a pathetic joke (at least from clips from it on other programs that I see. I will not give them even my small fraction of a rating by tuning in). With the exception of our local news and maybe a ball game that is not on another channel I have placed a Rambler family boycott on NBC, the (N)othing (B)ut ©rap network..

October 24, 200817 yr Michelle Obama isn't running for office. :thumb: Seriously, this is getting ridiculous and childish.

"Jobs is a three letter word" and "Stand up, Chuck" are classic gaffes. These examples, both from the past two months, combined with the fact that Biden cheated in law school, graduated in the bottom 25 percent of his class but claimed to have graduated in the top half of the class, exaggerated the number of degrees that he earned, and even plagiarized another man's family tree and you have what should be a virtual gold mine of political satire and ridicule. The only reason SNL has not skewered Biden on a regular basis is the "(D)" beside of his name on the ballot.

The merely go to a heightened reality of the candidates actual personas.
