Polamalu: Fines make NFL 'pansy game'

Featured Replies

While I do not disagree with Polamalu, it comes down to the athleticism and size of today's players. They are almost too big, strong, and fast. I can see both sides of the argument.

But aren't the guys receiving the hits too big, strong, and fast too? It's not like these guys are only on the defensive side of the field. This is the argument used by the NFL and many who defend the new rules. They act like only the defensive players have evolved, and the offensive guys are still the same scrawny guys from the 70's and 80's.

I agree with Troy, this ia all about money...

I think typically WR's are bigger than most DB's anyway. Sure a receiver may come across and LB who is bigger than him, but very rarely will you find a DB that is bigger than the WR he is covering. If WR's want to be the Prima Donna's of the football world, they better be able to take a hit. JMO.

And same goes for DB's...They talk as much trash (generally) as the WR's they cover, so they should be able to back up their stuff too. It's rare you find a WR that's REALLY good at blocking.

Of course they are. However, that does not mean our bodies have evolved at the same rate to sustain the type of collissions we have today.

I mean these guys are suppose to be professionals in this sport - with that they should be playing as hard as they ca. Non stop hard knocks and if they cannot handle that then they need to get out of the game.

I hate the Steelers but love Polamalu, but disagree with him in this case.

These NFL guys are sick. And by sick, I don't mean it in a positive away, but as in disturbing. The hits that they try to land on people who are often in compromised positions (i.e not going anywhere and on the way down) are inhumane.

It was great to see Polamalu get jacked yesterday.

The lady Steelers fan in front of me, who might I add had a huge dip in all game (insert vomiting smiley again), said is was a dirty play by Benson.

I hate the Bengals more than I do the Steelers. Just calling it as I see it.
