I would be very very upset with this if it went down. As good as this offer is I don't think its good enough to make him good. He already makes/has a boat load of money. I think this could be an option a little later in his career but he is in his prime now with a great chance to get back to the Finals with one of the Best young big guys in the league, which could develop into Shaq/Kobe part II. Knowing the kind of person Kobe is and the work he puts in to play at such a high level, I don't think he doing all that to play against competition that is far far superior to that in the NBA. He is way way to competitive to go over there and throw up 40 a game without blinking it would get old for him.

 

That's the way I thought a true NBA/Kobe fan would see it.

Let's be real. Euro basketball is a HUGE part of Kobe's life. No denying it. It's a reset with just as much money involved for basketball alone covering most of basketball and secondary money. If you think Kobe would struggle for endorsement deals in Europe, you are kidding yourself...

Of course he wouldn't struggle with it but he would probably lose all the ones he has right now. He said earlier in the year that he would listen but doesn't think he would do it at this point in his career. I just don't see him doing it. Maybe in 5 or 6 years but not right now.

Why, if players want to leave to play in another country who are we to tell them no? Do they have no rights? I mean it's their life and they can do as they see fit for them and their family. Who cares if they leave, people need to get over it and quit whining about it because if it happens it happens. It's their life not ours and they can do what they want and in a choice like this there is no consequences they should suffer because of it either.

 

They have their rights just as the NBA has the right to put a policy in place to not let them back in "their league". I think it would be REALLY dumb for the NBA to not protect itself in this case.

No true competitor would consider doing this. There is too much emphasis placed on championships here in the US for any athlete to leave for any reason other than money.
