As far as what else Kobe has to prove in the NBA, he's got a lot to prove. For any professional athlete, you can never have enough rings. Let's face it, unless your playing soccer, the USA sets the standard when it comes to importance and desire of winning of championships. Kobe's a competitor, as most NBA stars are. They want to compete against the best in the world. The best in the world don't play in Greece. They play here.

Just guessing here, but I would think he would be paid to endorse a ton of stuff over there and they wouldn't be as aware of the "Colorado" incident.

We need HT for this one. I'm not a Kobe fan, I don't despise the guy, just not a big Kobe fan. For me, the same could be said for any NBA player. I'm not a huge NBA fan. I watch games when they are on, keep up with ex UK players and watch the playoffs, that's about it for me and the NBA. However, if I were a huge Kobe fan, and had followed him and the Lakers for years, I think I would be offended that he would jump ship on the entire NBA to go play over seas. I don't think I'd buy his jersey. I think I would take it as a slap in the face. HT should be able to give us a little more insight on this one.

Why, if players want to leave to play in another country who are we to tell them no? Do they have no rights? I mean it's their life and they can do as they see fit for them and their family. Who cares if they leave, people need to get over it and quit whining about it because if it happens it happens. What are the Lakers worth without Kobe? It's a business and owners can't afford to have their stock tank because of one guy who wants to get richer. If he wants go by all means go but he might get bored dunking on Orbzut and CO.
October 15, 200817 yr I would be very very upset with this if it went down. As good as this offer is I don't think its good enough to make him good. He already makes/has a boat load of money. I think this could be an option a little later in his career but he is in his prime now with a great chance to get back to the Finals with one of the Best young big guys in the league, which could develop into Shaq/Kobe part II. Knowing the kind of person Kobe is and the work he puts in to play at such a high level, I don't think he doing all that to play against competition that is far far superior to that in the NBA. He is way way to competitive to go over there and throw up 40 a game without blinking it would get old for him.
