Yes I remember. You'd think that the "experts" after having been proven wrong so, so many times in the past would be more cautious in their comments and criticisms, but the hits just keep on a coming year after year (and I hate coming across as a jerk by "calling out" those posters, but they don't seem to mind calling out 16, 17 and 18 year olds, so I figure what's good for the goose is good for the gander). Why did you bring that up Z? You just got me fired up again.

LC, like Highlands (actually even more so than Highlands) was very inexperienced at the beginning of this year. From what I've seen and been told, they have been progressing very well. There's little doubt that they have the athletes. It was just a matter of the kids getting adjusted to varsity football and gaining experience. They certainly have an excellent coaching staff. They are a dangerous opponent indeed.

Thanks for putting us all in our place LN. We all deserved that for even discussing it. Even if we believed it or not. It was wrong to even talk about.

Glad you have seen the light. :D And like I said, if some posters feel it is okay to call out young kids on public message boards, then those posters should be ready to be called out themselves when their criticisms prove to be terribly wrong. Seems rather fair to me.

And for what its worth, what I knew but couldn't post at the time was that there were certain plays that the Highlands coaching staff were confident would work very well against Ryle, but they intentionally did not call them as they were "saving them" for Colerain (like Guidugli running the ball and throwing the ball more to Roller). The Highlands staff felt very confident that the Ryle O would not be able to score against us, so they stuck with a very base O, particularly when we got ahead. Which made it much easier for Ryle's D to limit our offensive production. People wrongly interpreted that as our O line stinking up the place and being the worse offensive line in 10 years.

I just hope that our boys don't get too comfy with these large margins of victory. I have a feeling our "Louisville Central" game is coming. What I mean by that is last year, Central came out and smacked us in the mouth and it took throwing everything including the kitchen sink to pull that one out. I just worry that we haven't hit that one team to put us in our place (with the exception of Colerain).

I have those exact same concerns which is why I usually predict closer games than some others do (and look foolish doing it I might add). One of these weeks I'm going to be right (but I hope I'm not). :D

By the way, that's LN for getting my back on that other thread. I can't believe the nerve of some people. I know that I may say many things that you may disagree with and still do, but it's nice to know that when it all comes down to it, we're on the same side here. I would not at all be surprised if this team comes out and shows some impressive football for atleast the first 3 quarters. They were amazing last year. Now I know that this is not the same group of players, but neither is HHS and they are playing like they are on fire right now.:fire:

Is the game definitely at 7:30 tonight? It gets so confusing with all the 7:00's and 7:30's.

Hope all of you Lexingtonians have a safe trip up here, and back home. Feel free to stop by and say hello. I'll be the one with tha BGP hat.

This will truly be Highlands first test of the season in KY.

No test in this one.

This year's Lexington Catholic team is not even close to the team in 2005 that came into Fort Thomas and shut down the Bluebirds, nor is it a team close to last year's Lexington Catholic team.

The Bluebirds will win with Dale Mueller hand riding his team home. No need to go to the whip in this one.

Highlands easily.

I'm there! I hope there is a great crowd and that this turns out to be a great game. My friend from GA is in town and wants to watch a football game. I know it's nothing like down south but I don't want to dissapoint him too much!

I am pretty sure it starts at 7:30...:ylsuper:

Thanks. Looking forward to a good game.

After looking at some things, there is a whole lot of sandbagging going on by LexCath folks. I think the LexCath fans are setting the Highlands fans up for a big disappointment. LexCath IS a lot better than advertised folks. Birds better bring their A game and be focused, or they will be brutally disappointed Friday night.

I agree that this game will be closer than people think. However I also think the Birds will not overlook the Knights and will win by 3 TD's. The predictions of a running clock and such are extreme. This is a very good Highlands team, but I will be very surprised if it is a running clock game.

I agree that the game will not be too out of hand if at all. I know we got Frank and Conner back and have a healthier Crawford and of course we have Roller and Collinsworth and Alford, and Fennel, etc. I just think that each and every team should be treated with respect from here on out. This point in the season is where so many good teams flip on the cruise control and end up hitting a bump in the road and that cruise turns into grabbing the wheel, slamming the brakes and hanging on for life! We all know that Dale and his staff have prepared these boys mentally as best as possible for this game. Let's just hope that they hold nothing back. By the way, I'm so glad it's finally football season! For those of you from LC that haven't been to HHS, it may get a little windy in the stands tonight, don't forget a wind breaker or a blanket.

3 hours 26 minutes and counting...:ylsuper:

We need one of those automatic counters that counts down. you can download them somewhere, but I'm not savvy enough to figure it out.
