October 14, 200817 yr Will there be specific criteria for determination of DI and DII? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
October 14, 200817 yr What does this Elite team do to the other DI teams from that age group? (Ville, Rising Stars, etc.) Do you expect there to be a DI and DII division at state this year for U14???? I don't think the Elite team really does anything to any of the teams, other than possibly replacing Georgetown Thunder and they were done anyway because 1/2 the team goes to Scott County and the program does a summer team that plays state, which would have made it impossible to do both. The Ville is still around, having replaced Sanders with Quentin Snider -- from what I heard. The Rising Stars lost 2 kids to KY Elite, but they played without those 2 every year up until last year. The 4th D1 team -- Hoop Dreams -- really didn't field a competitive team anyway.
October 14, 200817 yr Will the Tarheels field a team for U13 with the formation of KY Elite? If not, what predictions does anyone have of #23 from Tarheels will play for???? I'm sure the Tarheels will still have a team and Hatton will still be there. Somebody posted that the 14U Tarheels are back, so that is actually another D1 14U team and Hatton would be a part of that, I'm sure.
October 15, 200817 yr That is impressive! What makes it even more impressive is that he is a 7th grader!! :eek: He needs alot of work. He is very raw. But he does have one thing you can't teach, HEIGHT. I would not rank him in the top 10 middle school players in the 15th region. But looks like he is trying to get better

What is the actual cutoff date for AAU, I know it is somewhere around that date. I guess this means he will enter his senior year as a 19 yr old, look out State of Ky if he keeps growing and improving.

October 16, 200817 yr 14 years in the 7th grade is a little unfair I think to most kids. It's almost a two year gap between him and most 7th grade kids.

I believe that if he is 19 before school starts he will not be eligible his senior year.
October 17, 200817 yr I believe that if he is 19 before school starts he will not be eligible his senior year. He wont be so I am sure there are no worries there. I would expect him to make some noise for the Scott Co Cards in the future.
October 17, 200817 yr The holding back of kids for sports has gotten ridiculous. If a student in public school repeats a grade for sports the parents should pay tuition. (Not the taxpayers). AAU should do away with grade exceptions. IMO.
