Despite the denials of Sen. McCain's campaign manager, said manager has in the past and still did as of recent times receive money from them on a monthly basis.

Do you have to be IN D.C. to discuss this situation? With all the media following these two around, wouldn't it be better for them to stay away so that this thing doesn't turn into a circus?

I guess I misunderstood Sen. McCain when he made his request to suspend campaigning. I thought he meant totally. Instead it sounds like he just meant HE would not be campaigning. Unless they also stopped all of the ads (they didnt) and cut off the one-speech pony Sarah Palin then, in reality, nothing has changed.

The reason Obama doesn't want to take part is a lot of his buddies are what got this mess started several years ago with Fannie and Freddie.

 

Don't forget that in the very short time Obama has been in Congress he is the #2 person in receiving money from Freddie and Fannie if you go back to 1989.

Every McCain Campaign office that I know of conducted regular hours in the last couple of days. As you said, ads have not stopped. The statement to suspend is misleading, and comes off as very Political(like thats a surprise:creepy:)

Speaking of cellular technology(Blackberry), the legislation that McCains staffer kinda claimed help bring about the Blackberry; I have heard that McCain voted against it.

According to Obama's campaign, McCain is too old and out of touch to use technology anyway, so I suppose using their logic, he had to be there.

 

I would rather have a leader present to show his support/opposition to what is going on in a situation that Obama rightfully deemed as 'the worse financial crisis that our country has faced since the great depression.'

So "being present" is what he did? That was his contribution?

 

He called other senators in order to garner support. That's fine. That's what senators do. However, he made a big deal about cancelling the debate yet he contributed nothing to it. Heck, he even said he didn't read the proposal.

 

So, again, what did we get from either Sen. McCain being there or Sen. Obama being there other than a photo op with the President?
