They focused their offense around Hayden, which is a great game-plan, but if a team can shut him down, LCA won't be able to win. It's very very simple, stop Hayden and you will win! :thumb:

So, they didn't try to utilize their receivers or their speed?

They threw it to Burdette on the rocket screen and that was about it, every now and then they would throw it to #18 I believe. They didn't pass much at all, they didn't need to. Hayden rushed for over 300, they stuck with the run game almost all night.

I didn't see any tackles for these two players so they may go only one way. Pretty awesome 1-2 punch

I think they all do. Just have to cut down on penalties & mistakes, & not get rattled when LCA scores. Have to stick to the game plan & not get flustered.

Hayden is a monster, if Raceland tries to tackle him up high like they did in that clip, we lose. That simple. You have to slow him down.

LCA rushed 35 times, but passed only 19 times. Usually the ratio is about 50/50; or maybe slightly more passes than rushes.

 

I know that, especially in non-district games, coach Rains will work on certain aspects of the game (in this case, rushing) to try to sharpen the team for district play.

Just have to cut down on penalties & mistakes, & not get rattled when LCA scores. Have to stick to the game plan & not get flustered.

 

That goes both ways. I believe that LCA has only been behind on the scoreboard for a few minutes of one game. What worries me is how they will react if they get a couple of scores behind against a great team like Raceland. Will the kids panic? I don't think so, but we just don't know yet.
