Thinking about trying to make it up to Raceland for this one tomorrow night. Can someone PM me directions to the field? I'll be coming from Pikeville. I know to take US 23 north to Ashland, but what do I need to do after that?

Stay on 23 north straight into Racleand. Once you get into downtown Ashland you are only about 15 minutes away.

Thanks. I checked it out on Yahoo Maps and it seemed pretty simple. Are the road signs pretty self-explanatory (cause, in my experiences, sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't)? And will I be able to see the lights of the stadium pretty easily?

Take US 23 North threw Ashland, like said you are then about 15 minutes away, when you come into Raceland you will see a Population Sign for the city of a whopping 2500, take a right at the next stop light, go two blocks and turn left onto Old US 23, drive less then one mile and you will see the elementary school on the left, turn into the parking lot and try to find a parking space.

 

If you mistakenly go threw the stop light you will see the football field to your right on US 23. In this case just take the next right and go to the end of that road and turn right onto Old US 23 and drive about 200 yrds and turn in the parking lot.

 

If you get there early enough, I will be tailgating in the fenced in area beside the elementary school, if not, I will be on top of the press box, come over and say hello.

Raceland come out ready. Start the game in full gear, no slow starts, you will need every play. Be prepared, no distractions. This is the biggest game of the regular season, play it that way.

 

To be a great team, you have win all the games that you are expected to win, and you have to win most of the game that people don't expect you to win. This is one of the games that many people think you can't win, come out with that chip on your should and prove that The 2008 Raceland Rams are for real. Make the state stand up and take notice. Make people know who you are, and you are coming to meet them in the playoffs.

 

The difference between being good and being great is the little things.

 

That means to be great you have to do not just the big things right, you have to do the little things right also. All teams try to block, tackle, run, and pass, but the great teams hold their blocks longer then everyone else, the great teams wrap and drive through the ball carrier, the great teams run, pass, and catch to the best of their ability. And the great teams win. "Just win baby".

I agree with Ram in that this is Gameday Rams! Time for the talking to stop.

 

Some of us old guys with nothing better to do that to post things like 34-32 on here to remind you really means nothing.

 

Time to.........

Get focused on the LCA Eagles.

Execute the game plan, a great plan means "0" unless it is executed.

Stay Focused on every play from the opening kickoff till' the final horn.

Stay diciplined and cut out the penalties that have stopped you all season.

Play each play harder than the one before.

Leave it all out on the field, have no regrets like "I could have played harder on that play" afterwards.

Yes, you will be able to see the football field and lights as the field is on your right no more than 100yards off the highway. You can't miss it.

Ram, it is with great regret that tell you that I have been unable to work out my schedule so that I can attend. :cry:

 

I know it will be a great game, with an awesome atmosphere. But, honestly, my biggest regret is that I will not be able to meet so many of you great friends/antagonists (you know who you are!).

I’m sure excitement is filling the air in Raceland today. This is going to be a fantastic game. Match-ups like this are what you dream about as a player, coach and fan…the stakes are high and the competition will be fierce.

 

Best of luck tonight to the Rams. I know you guys will represent our area well…its going to be a long bus ride back to Lexington for some folks this evening.
