Again....we will take up the talk about the Russell game starting on Oct. 25th, Russell is not even on the Rams radar or in anyones thoughts right now. Should you or others want to talk about that one now then you are far more concerned than I am about it.

So, you quoted the post that you need to refer to and as for you "bait" in ths post, nothing biting here...... I think that you will find that most all Raceland fans on here will not be doing alot of talking before the game and then "IF" they lose a game will log on and give congrats to the opponet and also treat each team/opponet with respect, win or lose.

 

Now, that has been far too much talk about a non district game that has nothing to do with this thread and is over a month away so...........back to this thread topic. As I said earlier, LCA imo will no doubt be the best football team that Raceland will play all season. This will take an all out and 4qtr. effort for the Rams to have any hope of winning tis one. Our defense is going to have to slow down the "Hayden express" and contain the excellent QB of the Eagles. Our line play on both sides of the ball will be critical.

Rams, stay focused on a good week of practice, work on and perfect your game plan. Study your keys and assignments and when Friday night gets here go out and play each play, stay focused, diciplined and leave it all out on the field.

Once again I think that special teams is going to play a big roll in this game. Raceland is going to have to step up in this game and do not alow the big play and cut down on penalties. The secondary better be ready for this game.

LCA wins in a close one.

The keys to the game for Raceland sound simple and predictable, but nonetheless they are true. Raceland has to play a stiff run defense to hold Hayden to a minimum amount of yards, Raceland has to pressure Whitt and not give him the time he wants to complete passes, if Raceland's defense does these two things it will allow Raceland's offense to put the needed points on the board to win this game.

 

Hayden and Whitt are the LCA offense, to beat them you have to contain, harass, and menace these two.

 

If Raceland's defense plays soft on the run, it will be a long night for Raceland.

I have seen both Russell and Raceland play...believe me, there is no comparison in the two...but that is a thread we can start later in the season.

Offensively, LCA seems to be a very balanced team. They have accumulated 1,082 rushing yards in 4 games with Hayden being responsible for 766 (almost 9 yards per carry) of those yards to compliment his 12 rushing touchdowns. Through the air, LCA is just shy of 1,000 yards in amassing 971 for the record books. Burdette is a key target with 19 receptions thus far for 319 yards and 5 scores. After Burdette though, quarterback Lucas Witt spreads the passing around evenly with four other receivers accumulating 20 passes total.

 

Defensively, it’s interesting to note that LCA has also yielded nearly as many yards as they have rushed at 907. The point is, Denton and Carver should be able to equalize the rushing attack in this game. Hayden will get his yards, Raceland needs to answer. LCA has also allowed 674 yards through the air. This is where I think Raceland will take it to them. Once the two headed attack of Denton and Carver get going, the Ram receivers should have room to work and do some serious damage.

 

It’s going to be a good one…this is the type of game which is the logical next step to fulfilling Raceland’s dream season.
