A transcript of the unedited interview of Sarah Palin by Charles Gibson clearly shows that ABC News edited out crucial portions of the interview that showed Palin as knowledgeable or presented her answers out of context. This unedited transcript of the first of the Gibson interviews with Palin is available on radio host Mark Levin's website. The sections edited out by ABC News are in bold. The first edit shows Palin responding about meeting with foreign leaders but this was actually in response to a question Gibson asked several questions earlier.

I have no problem with networks editing interviews to make them fit time constraints. However, to fit those constraints, whole questions and responses should be deleted.

 

To selectively delete parts of the responses and questions is flat out dishonest unless the interviewee is allowed to review the edits first and agrees that the edits are fair.

I think that is fair. The edits in this interview clearly changed some of its context and left out significant portions of answers.

I boycotted ABC, CBS, NBC & CNN newscasts at my house several months ago. They are part of the obama campaign and I'm sick of listening to them spew their one sided rhetoric. I decided to listen very carefully to the candidates, do research and think for myself. It didn't take long for me to realize that obama's direction is not a route I want to take, nor is it the same route the BIG 4 portray. Network media preys on ignorance and emotion and I'm surprised at the number of ignorant voters in this country.

I think that different versions of portions of the interview were aired on the evening news, Nightline, and the longer interview. I know that some of the deletions were not present when I watched the interview.
