What's it matter if the fans overlook a game and think they will win in a blowout. They are fans, not players so it has zero impact on the game.

Raceland is not in this argument, take it up with the one making the accusation. We want to discuss the Fairview game, but the other rival game keeps bleeding over to here.

Fairview football head coach Nathan McPeek got his first taste of the school’s rivalry with Raceland last year as an Eagles’ assistant.

 

“You could see right away that this is a special game for both schools,’’ McPeek said.

 

Even more so in a week such as this. With both teams undefeated heading into Friday’s contest in Westwood, the Class A matchup has Grade A appeal.

 

Both teams are ranked in the Top 10 of the state’s Associated Press poll.

...I sure hope the players at Raceland are not over looking Fairview like the fans are. I think Fairview deserves at least a little respect from the Raceland contingency at least until they have won the game. Then start the the in your face comments...Have a little respect for Fairview...

 

There must have been some posts deleted because I have read this thread from its beginning to the one you are currently reading and have not found any evidence of “overlooking” Fairview. If anything, it’s just the opposite. Ram has already provided numerous snippets which accurately reflect the entire tone of this rivalry game between two undefeated teams who respect each other’s programs.

 

My experience with any of the Raceland faithful is they are typically gracious in victory or defeat. So…the comment about waiting for the win before unloading the “in your face comments” is as unfounded and imaginary as the “overlooking” mirage.

Thanks for the link Ram, There is another area rivalry game this week but everyone can certainly be rest assured that this is the only game that we are concerned with this week.

Raceland/Fairview are smaller schools but this game is certanly as big and as intense of a rivalry as any.

Fairview is a very well coached football team and Coach McPeek obviously has the school, community and his kids believing and the Eagles are playing with a lot of confidence. Raceland will have to go in focused on playing "Raceland Football" (not all the extra curricular stuff), cut out the stupid penalties we have been getting and leave it all out on the field. With Faiview flying high and at home I hope that the Rams can keep it close with a chance to win.

Should anyone on this Raceland team be overlooking this one then it will be over early. Fairview can play!

As my father says, "it takes a big man to admit he is wrong"...so, once is enough for me Jeepman. Goodness knows I am no stanger to error either.
