I am sure that once you have the chance to attend that you will agree that this is a great opportunity for our students. I was there last week for an event and it will be outstanding. People keep asking about the cost, I am sure that will come out when the official announcement is made public. I think that is the way it worked when the 9th made there announcement.

I think you can say that as well based on what is coming back and the talent that is stacked on both squads, but I am not going to make that a definite as I have seen too many weird things happen in sports. You will see me saying that once the districts are complete.

 

The only way Mason doesnt go to regional is if they dont field a team, and we know thats not gonna happen. See ya in Northern Kentucky come March. :thumb:

From reading the posts on here, there are some who know some of the financial details already,(exact prices on tickets, concessions, and the rent on the arena, etc.). The big drawing card of this years tournament is holding 2 regionals at one location and cashing in on twice as many fans and such. The 39th and 40th Districts are not going to vote to hold it at NKU and the District with Harrison Co. & Deming may not vote to hold it at NKU so if thats the case will it be financially feasible to hold it at NKU once every 4 years and will it be financially beneficial for just the 9th Region boys and girls to be their on their own when the 10th Region is played in Maysville or Mt. Sterling? I know the 9th region could seat only 3500 at most if I remember right before the new arena, but all in all after this year, is this going to be as profitable to the schools like they hope, probablly not, with the economy the way it is right now. I will go to NKU if my schedule allows and will be excited to be their and support the Royals and I hope it will be a successfull tournament, but the main success is holding the two regionals together year in and year out and that will never happen.

Quite disappointing to hear you take shots at folks who spend huge amounts of their time in service to the betterment of the experience for their school's student athletes?? Your obvious envy seems to be clouding your objectivity?? :confused:

 

Also to PNC's point, these type decisions are made by committee anyway; and by design are not the product of one institution?? Further :confused: ??

 

I think it was already posted. This is up to the Campbell County School Board. They get to decide it. Word is the superintendent got the deal done and now must confirm it with his board. So it really is the product of one institution in this case.

Thanks for the procedural update OT!! I learn something new every day!! Here I always thought the district's member schools voted on the venue for the regional tourney on a rotating basis. As a fan of the 37th district and 10th region, I appreciate Campbell County, in their capacity as the sole decision maker and voice of the 37th, singlehandedly having the foresight to give the BOK Center a try when it came their turn to choose!! I'll be there to help prove their infinite wisdom correct, and make the event a roaring success!! :thumb::thumb:

Looks as if Campbell Co. saves the day again:dancingpa As it has been pointed out in the past, who cares how this was done? These kids now get a first class place to play along with the 9th Region. By the way, did the Superintendent broker this deal for the 9th also? I don't hear anyone wanting praise from that region. As usual, they do what is best for the kids and are happy with that!

 

On a side note it now seems the race for President has now become a three person race. If he can get this done, than I am very sure he can take care of the financial issues of the world, well as long as tenure is not involved:thumb:
