Why I can't vote Republican.

Featured Replies

Rob from the people and take for herself. Love those values.

If you want to say you can't vote Republican because that is what Murkowski did, then it would make some more sense.

Look at the title of the thread. :thumb:

I can't vote Republican because of McCain and his "cover girl".

I am not sold on why her family is granted travel expenses paid for by the state. Is this common practice?

Anybody?

Anybody?
It is commonplace and legal for Alaskan governors. Palin has been relatively frugal. Juneau is 571 miles from Anchorage as the crow flies. Travel is not cheap.

I can certainly understand the reimbursement for her personal travel expenses, but not those of her family. However, if it is standard Alaskan procedure, then no foul here.

I thought you said you were undecided?

Why should she charge the state $60 when she's at her house? I can see if it she was traveling that day back to her house and had to eat while traveling but if she was home all day today , slept in her house that night, didn't go anywere on state business there seems to be no logical reason to say that she should bill the state.

What am I missing?

That is what HHSDad said, and I agree with him and you.

Exactly, I don't care if she did save the state money, there's no reason she should put it in her pocket. Thank you.

If this offended you that bad, I really don't think you were going to vote Republican anyway.

I can not vote republican because of the idealogy, I also disagree with the dems as well.

I do not like the republicans because they say hands off money, but you must live my way morally. I also think they are very hypocritical this election with the selection of a woman as vice president, let me explain... The religious right (who are as bad as the pharasees(sp) ) will throw the Bible around and take it out of context, especially with the role of a woman, (ask the Southern Baptist Convention) will now flip flop what they believe is right all for the sake of votes...in one word cowards!!!

I do not like the dems because they say live like you want don't worry about it, but everybody will pay because of the choices you make. I have a problem with this because of personal responsibility. Why should I pay for someone else's mistakes. Why should I pay over a long period of time (one year) for a system that allows people to be lazy?

So help me ACE from the Right or someone from the left tell me where I have gone wrong with my thinking.

All of them ar hypocrits, Mr. F, but so are you and I and everybody else.

I think you are being unreasonable with the religious right analogy, at least this election. I have seen very little involvement of the religious right in this election, probably because Dolson, et. al. was so lukewarm on McCain. There are very few hotbed religious issues like there were last election. In addition, I would only ask for someone to provide proof that religious leaders have stated that women should not hold public office. They may be there, perhaps, but both the SBC and Rev. Mohler have stated that they have no difficulty with Palin being Gov. of Alaska or running for Veep.

99% of the people that have said that no this site are full of it. How many have you seen say that yet they run the Rep in the dirt and fall over theirselves defending the Dems. You only need to look at ones posts to see whether they are truly undecided.

Hense, the hypocracy!!!

They will use First Timothy to the cows come home on one front but not on another.

I do agree all are hypocrites including myself, but I am suppossed to elect a representative the represents me and has the best interest for me. However, I have not found that representative yet in this Presidental campaign.

All I hear is how some preacher said something in a pullpit, how it is time for change, how some guy's middle name is evil, and that the antichrist is coming, all of which comes from the religious right, playing on people's fears.

Then from the left I hear a time for a change, (but I don't like the look of that change) so my question is again very simple, what should I personally do...

(I am voting because, it is my right and I do believe that there was a great sacrifice so that I could, so not voting is not a issue)
