:lol: Wilson was an academic who studied politics and government. In fact, the idealism of his foreign policy reflected his academic roots. Having "only two years of experience in elected office" did not make him any less well versed in foreign policy or politics. Comparing Palin to Wilson makes very little sense.

JFK was a war hero who commanded a PT boat in the South Pacific. That means that he had more executive experience that Obama and Biden combined. Kennedy had made life and death decisions for himself and others before he ran for his first public office.

No that was not the point of the comparison. My point is that Wilson had the same experience in statewide office as Palin does. People having far more experience than Wilson have made far worse presidents. The American people did not disqualify Wilson based on his relative inexperience, they judged him on the campaign trail. That is where Palin will be judged.

Ronald Reagan had no foreign policy experience when he entered office and most people agree that his policies were instrumental in winning the Cold War. Sarah Palin has proven to be a skilled negotiator and a shrewd judge of people and those are skills that our great presidents of the past have shared.

 

You are greatly overestimating the value of Senate experience and ignoring Palin's obvious assets. I am not convinced that Biden will even win the foreign policy portion of the debate with Palin. She may very well be able to force Biden to defend some of blunders that he has made during his long, long career as a Washington insider. If that happens, then there is no telling what kind of gaffes Biden will make. As he has admitted, he tends to exaggerate when he gets angry.

 

Obama was not thinking clearly when he picked Biden as his running mate. He should have gone with a Washington outsider to reenforce his campaign's change theme. McCain and Palin are taking the change theme away from Obama by talking about the changes that they have already made.

That is going to be a huge issue in this campaign. Palin has not been on any taxpayer paid junkets and has only visited Alaskan National Guard troops serving in the Middle East. Who vetted this woman and failed to uncover this devastating fact? :lol:

You can laugh if you want, but to me that says she has no firsthand knowledge of much except her cold, dark corner of the Earth. I want my president and VP to be well-traveled and culturally aware. It seems to me that Palin is neither.

Harry Reid, John Murtha, Joe Biden, Charles Rangel, Chuck Schumer, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Hagel, Barbara Boxer, and Maxine Walters are all well traveled and I would not want any of them to be president. Having a passport and luggage with a bunch of stickers from around the world is not high on my list of qualifications for POTUS or VP. Heck, using your yardstick, Jimmy Carter is ripe to serve a second term. :lol:

That has been my contention from the beginning and exactly why I raise this point. Palin has less than 60 days to make that case and she is currently not accepting questions.

That argument holds no water. That list could continue on, and that's fine, but I want people who ARE running for President not to be ignorant of world affairs and I want them to be well traveled. Again, Palin does not meet this criteria.
