The subject is fine with me and I'm a McCreary fan. Just go to the boys side and we'll continue to discuss.

 

This thread is about the post players of the 12th region, and lets keep it that way.

I would assume that she is eligible to play.

Morrow played behind 12th Region POY Lindsey Waters in her freshman season. Her sophomore season was cut short very early by blowing out her knee. Her junior season.. well that's where we are today.

 

She won't be eligible to play her Jr year (transfere rule) however, she may dominate her Sr. year.

She didn't play but a couple of games before blowing her knee out. She also never had a coach that knew how to play her. At Wayne County, with their great coaching, she will become one of the best post players in the 12th.

 

With great coaching in middle school, Morrow was unstopable.

 

I think McCreary has an excellent girls B-ball coach. he was left with a very young team. Also, he expects alot of hard work and dedication and these girls like to be pacified which will not happen with the current coach. My suggestion is suck it up work hard or go home. Those who play will get great coaching and become better ball players.

Morrow can make it up and down the floor fine. Of course, a fast-paced game never really suits a "big," but Morrow can do her own.

 

I think the players lost dedication in the game behind the new coach from last season. The coach will be back this season, and unless something miraculous happens, he won't be back next season.

 

I think that is a decision that the principal alone makes and I heard her say myself that the current coach is her pick and she will support him and his efforts. Where is your info coming from? Just like you said Gay would be gone and you were wrong there as well. Lack of support will hurt any coach in any program and it sounds to me like you are part of the non-support that he is getting which started on his own staff last year. It's hard to be successfull when one of your own asst. coaches are not supporting you like they should!

Dont get me wrong I agree Waters was/is a great talent that played on a lot of bad teams. If she would have had more talent around here she may have been able to develop more parts of her game. Hammond in my opinion will be a more rounded player with perimeter skills.

 

I watched Waters play and she could bring it up the floor and she could shoot the 3 and we all know she dominated inside so I am confused to what part of the game she was weak at? Just asking!

A lot of it inside McCreary came strictly from the coaching staff... more so, the head coach.

 

Many parents are upset with Waters (head coach) and rightfully so. Not so much that they lost, or that their kids didn't get to play, but some of the things that Waters would say to the players in practice regarding personal issues.

 

Outside of that, most of the players told me that Waters had no idea what he was doing and would just make a fool out of himself during practice and that they learned most of the plays (or what they had) from assistant Bartley, who was formerly on the mens side of the ball.

 

McCreary will have another tough season this year as they can't get prepared and be consistent. They're afraid to shoot and mess around until they turn it over.

 

From what I underrstand, the administration at McCreary Central and the board are up in arms about Waters. Waters will be gone next season unless somehow McCreary makes a marvelous season or run during the post season.

 

Like I said, these girls can't stand to get yelled at and their parents think they are little princes's........hey wake up, they are athletes. I here you talking about Wayne Co coaches i will bet the farm the yell and get on their player's butts all of the time! The asst. coach should have shown support for Waters instead he didn't which caused a division which is the reason the program is where it is at not because Waters is a bad coach because I have seen Waters take bad teams and turn them into winners but he had support!

I heard Eddie Bartley (who was the boys asst. for years and then girls jv/asst.) is very upset because he had been pushed out, of the girls program. From my understanding he was never given a reason and was contacted via e-mail. In my opinion he was the only coach they had, and a great one at that. He made a tremendous change in the jv team. It was rumored last year that some of the sophomore varsity players were begging to play jv, due to his coaching style. I saw him coach the boys a few years ago and I watched him a couple of times last season with the girls. He seemed to have all the qualities you would want for a coach discipline, respect, and knowledge of the game. Seems like a shame to get rid of him. Must be a lot of jealousy on the coaching staff or typical politcs, or maybe both. It would be a shame if Vanover didn't play or transferred. Shes a hard worker and a good ball player.

 

I'll agree that Bartly is a good coach but he should have been supportive of Waters even if he disagreed with him because he was the head coach. When you are an asst coach and openly disagree with the head coach to parents and players you do nothing but destroy a program and you need to be asked not to coach anymore. Now, that is how I am aware things happend and this was comming from players and parents!

If McCreary boys does not win the region this year they will never win it and I have heard that there is alot of pressure to win it after a quick exit last year with a team that should have won it( except Southwestern had something to say about that). I have heard that the problem with McCreary is something to do with a school official coaching the AAU team when school was in session which is a BIG NO NO. Death Penalty if its not self reported or so I am told.

 

Why? They will be better next year than they will be this year! Everyone will be Juniors this year!

That's correct but the committee goes with the recomendation 99.9% of the time and that is the recomendation to the committee!

Sorry, i was just responding to them as i got to them. Didn't mean to repeat what was already told!

 

As for the AAU situation.................I read on here that was for the boys thread so i think I will stick to the girls for now!
