Since this was drawing attention in another thread, I thought we could discuss this here in order. What is everyones thoughts?

All around I think Brown from Lincoln is the top post player in the 12th at this point. She shoots it better from the outside. Hammond while not a true post is next best.

The Hammond kid is listed in Rick Bolus' rankings as one of the top 25 players in the state and in some high school blogs as one of the top 5 players in the class of 2011. I don't know if this makes her the best player in the 12th region this year, but her stock is rising and most college coaches see her as the best Division I prospect in the 12th. I just read in the local paper where she was in Louisville for an unofficial visit last week and has been offered a scholarship from the University of Louisville. It said Louisville's coach Waltz has made her a priorty recruiting target for her senior class.

Fothergill is Southwesterns point guard she is not a post player. Granted she is one of the best point guards in the area.

As to legitimate Post players, it would have to be between Brown and Salyers, Hammond is more comfortable facing the basket and is projected to be a small forward in college.

Is East Jessamine in the 12th region? If so Clara Mitchell who has reportedly transferred to East Jessamine from Lexington Christian Academy would probably be in the mix with the other candidates already mentioned.

I was just agreeing with the above poster bigimpact, Hammond is really a small forward. I also think behind or with Brown is Mitchell who now may be the best post in the region. I would pick those two, then Hammond a close third. I would think most would agree with that assesment.

Morrow wasn't the best post player when she was at McCreary Central...why would she be the best at Wayne Co. where there are more solid players?

She didn't play but a couple of games before blowing her knee out. She also never had a coach that knew how to play her. At Wayne County, with their great coaching, she will become one of the best post players in the 12th.

 

With great coaching in middle school, Morrow was unstopable.

Isn't she a junior? I would think that she has played more than a few games in her high school career. But I could be wrong. From what I heard she lacked motivation and work ethic but I'm sure the coaches at Wayne co. will get their money's worth out of her.....

Morrow played behind 12th Region POY Lindsey Waters in her freshman season. Her sophomore season was cut short very early by blowing out her knee. Her junior season.. well that's where we are today.

I see....well it was an interesting post. Lucky for her she now has coaches that know how to coach.....

That moneys worth comment was uncalled for. I suggest that you ask her parents why they moved.( I have asked them).

 

Wayne County has as good of group of coaches that you will find in the state.

It's just an expression. Sorry if it rubbed anyone the wrong way. I assumed most people were familiar with colloquialisms and figures of speech. Perhaps I was wrong. I could care less about any why she moved and why she is playing for another team. I was just asking a question based on information that has been passed on through the grapevine. Funny how easy it is to get people going though....
