If Ryle wants to be a contender this year they have to do something on offense. Granted, Highlands had great defense... but Ryle made them look even better. Ryle's defense looked solid but offensively, I thought it was embarssing. Hope that new offensive coordinator knows what he's doing.

Have faith in the new offense. As we saw in '06, just running the ball does nothing for you against the teams in Louisville. Hempel will get a lot of experience this next week against Cooper and will be ready for NCC.

They'll be fine. Yep, the first three quarters of the Highlands game was pretty painful to watch, but in the 4th I think you started to see the clouds part a bit and a glimmer of what is to come. Keep in mind that they were going up against the top team in NKY and 23rd ranked team in the country, it was our sophomore QB's first ever varsity start, and the first real game under a new offensive coordinator. I think you will see improvements every single week and they will have a very strong offense - both running the ball and throwing it - by middle of the season. At least I hope . . . .

This squad resembles the '05 team that also followed a state champion team. It took the '05 team some time to jell. The '05 coaching staff and players also took some shots. But once they found thier mojo, they rolled to the 1/4 finals until they faced a very good Lex Cath team and an outstanding QB by the name of Justing Burke. Take it easy on the 'Birds. This season is just getting started and they will improve all the way down to the pizza box.

This is the time they need the moral support from the football community... not condemnation. The line will be fine... the skilled positions will continue to develop and all will be well at the end of the day.
