August 29, 200818 yr If the Cincinnati Bengals' offseason couldn't get any more strange, Pro Bowl receiver Chad Johnson may have added a new chapter just before the regular season. According to Miami radio station 790 The Ticket, which is in Johnson's hometown, the receiver has legally changed his last name to "Ocho Cinco." Johnson's -- sorry -- Ocho Cinco's reported name change has been rumored in NFL circles for weeks, and according to the station today, it's official. Johnson forewarned the public that a major surprise was coming during a recent interview with Chris McKendry on ESPN's SportsCenter. "A lot of people look at Chad Johnson and say he's crazy and he does a lot of stuff, but I don't think people really understand how smart I really am," Johnson said. "So come Sept. 7, I believe when we play the Baltimore Ravens, I think that's the game, there's a surprise for everybody -- for everybody. When I say something, it is what it is, just enjoy it. Because it's going to last 16 weeks, plus some more." Could this be it? If the report is correct he should be able to wear his nickname on the back of his jersey without penalty, which he's wanted to do for quite some time. LINK
August 29, 200818 yr "He Hate Me" was much more original and funny... I think it was unintentional though.
August 29, 200818 yr "He Hate Me" was much more original and funny... That's funny and I agree. I think that guy played at Western.
August 29, 200818 yr I don't see why anyone would say this is a bad thing....It's not a big deal, but as always they're people on here chomping at the bit to bash Chad.
August 29, 200818 yr I don't see why anyone would say this is a bad thing....It's not a big deal, but as always they're people on here chomping at the bit to bash Chad. It is a big deal because Chad plays for a bad team that already has enough distractions to worry about.
August 29, 200818 yr That's funny and I agree. I think that guy played at Western. He did play at WKU. Rod Smart is his real name -- at least, I don't think he had it legally changed to He Hate Me.
August 29, 200818 yr It is a big deal because Chad plays for a bad team that already has enough distractions to worry about. They had their chance to trade him...They wanted to keep him and they knew what they'd be keeping if they did.
August 29, 200818 yr They had their chance to trade him...They wanted to keep him and they knew what they'd be keeping if they did. And that's why the Bengals are the most poorly run franchise in all of sports.
August 29, 200818 yr "He Hate Me" was much more original and funny... Oh yes, how could we forget Rod Smart and the XFL.
August 29, 200818 yr It is a big deal because Chad plays for a bad team that already has enough distractions to worry about. It's no more of a distraction than if his last name stays Johnson. People just love to bash Chad every chance they get.
August 29, 200818 yr Author It's no more of a distraction than if his last name stays Johnson. People just love to bash Chad every chance they get. If his last name stayed Johnson, do you think people would be writing articles about his last name staying Johnson?
