Just as you say Jackson is a very versatile & gifted player but the topic is the best point guard in the state this year & it is hands down Ethan Faulkner!Jackson will most likely play at a higher level in college due to athletic skills but a PG isn't necessarily about athletic ability especially in high school. Ethan just wins !

I watched Chad Jackson this summer and I watched Faulkner as well. They are a little different in that Jackson tries more to get his teammates involved than Faulkner (atleast when I have watched the 2). There is no doubt in my mind that Jackson is the better pointguard, athlete, more versatile, better player, etc. Faulkner does 1 thing better than Jackson and thats shoot the 3. I thought when I seen them both played hard. Sanford is a great scorer and runs the point so I put him #1.

So, the case is closed because you pointed out that if they were on the same team you'd play Faulkner at the point, not Jackson?

Any coach with a brain would do the same. Chad can play the 1/2/3/4 and is 4 or 5 inches taller than Ethan. Ethan can play the 1/2. Even someone as stupid as me can figure out that you'd play Chad somewhere else. Poor argument to "close the case" IMO.

My reasons for choosing Jackson have already been outlined above and I agree with LogMountainBoy. In a head to head selection, not what they've done in the past, just straight up, tit for tat, I'd go with Jackson.

You know more about basketball than me, but If Jackson and Faulkner were on the same team, wouldn't you play Jackson at the point and play Faulkner at a 2 guard position and try to get him open shots? That is the only area where Faulkner is better than Jackson.

No. Jackson would probally outscore Faulkner. I want my point guard to Lead , make decisions, and set up the other players. Ethan Faulkner does that better than any other player in the state imo.The only one close to him is Evan Faulkner:D

Faulkner is the BEST point guard in the state today. There is not a high school coach in Kentucky that wouldn't love to have him. There are 3 or 4 that will be better college players but, right now, Faulkner is the man. Plain and simple, he is a WINNER and makes everyone around him better. He sacrifices personal glory for team accomplishment and that in itself is the definition of a great point guard.

If you needed just a pure point guard then you would take Ethan. If you need a great athlete, then Jackson or Whitaker may be your choice. However if you need a player that can shoot and lead a team, then you choose Ethan Faulkner. My problem with this whole discussion is that I have never dissed Jackson, I only mentioned that he is no where near the point guard that Ethan is, but he is a very good basketball player. Honestly, if you had to choose a player on the high school level as a point guard, would you choose Jackson, hopefully not, as he is not the best point guard in the state. He's a great athelete and basketball player, but leading a team is not his strong suit.

Well, I suppose I'll opine away on the subject. Of course it's no secret that I'm partial to Mr. Jackson. Having seen him play on numerous occasions as well as some of the others mentioned, I feel like my opinion here is as valid as many others who've posted in this thread. So, without further ado, I'll try to be a good ringside reporter here......(in my best Howard Cosell voice) I think what we have here are opinions from biases anti-Jackson regional slants. If you'll notice, those who offer their opinions with Elliott county ties have knocked Mr. Jackson and pointed out his flaws. Similarly, those from central regions who have been caught up in the middle of the Euton/Jackson transfer saga have no doubt downplayed the young man's ability simply out of what I'd refer to as envy and strife. However, I believe that Mr. Jackson does have offers from WVU and Xavier as well as interest been shown by the likes of Indiana. Now, I mean no disrespect to Mr. Faulkner. I've been in arenas where off the court he and his brother are very polite, respectful young men and on the court, he is a very heady player and a delight to watch. But in my most humble opinion, most unbiased observers would agree that Mr. Jackson is not only more skilled but will play at a higher level past high school. We can argue what both have done in the past. We can argue what their teams have done. But since this is opinion only, I can't see how there is a wrong answer. The only thing that I find interesting is that Elliott folk believe that Mr. Jackson doesn't even belong in the discussion and that is ludicrous. Remember, a blind eye will be the first one blacked. Ask Buster Douglas!

Honestly, my friend you typed a lot of words, but none of them said exactly why Jackson should be considered the better point guard at the high school level. Honestly to anyone that has watched both of them play, he is no where close to the point guard that Ethan is, and the demenor of both men doesn't really matter(they are very respectful young men by the way). Jackson is a very good basketball player and athelete, but his point guard skills are no where near those of Ethan Faulkner.

I will accept the argument that Faulkner is a better point guard than Jackson. I also believe that Jackson is a better player than Faulkner. To go back to the old question, if I was starting a team which one would I choose??? Easily Jackson.

Yeah I disagree. I believe that Jackson is a better passer and ball handler than Faulkner. When I have seen him he has made everyone around him much better. Thats what you want from your point guard.
