The BHS/HHS scrimmage is the same every yr w/the exception of maybe one yr. Scrimmages mean absolutely nothing except for the coaches to see who has the guts and who don't and time to make adjustments. BHS always comes out fine after that scrimmage.

 

BHS wins easy! If you have lived in NKY for a while you should know that the class a team is means nothing to BHS. They know they put their uniforms on just like the other team.

 

I don't know UNC. I think Dixie just may win this game. While you are correct about the BHS/HHS scrimmages, not meaning much because of the substitution patterns. from what I've observed over the years, the scrimmages have almost always shown the benefit to Highlands of being a bigger school. And Dixie is bigger than Highlands. From what I've been told, Dixie this year has actually taken its off season conditioning much more seriously(some have blamed the coaches in the past for not wanting to put in the time and some have blamed the players for not having the work ethic, which resulted in slow starts as the team played itself into shape and got down its execution; regardless of who was at fault in the past, this year I hear that they have worked much harder as a team) and they took their summer practices much more seriously conditioning wise. If that's true, then Dixie will be a much more difficult early season opponent than they have in the past.

 

Beechwood has a nice football team this year and are my bet to win 1A. But I think Dixie's depth will prevail this year. They have a very talented junior class and an exceptional senior running back. I believe Dixie is really going to surprise people in N. Ky this year, starting with a first game "upset" of Beechwood. Good luck to both teams.

I am an avid Beechwood Football Fan and have been for many years. It is my feeling that Beechwood will win this game for the 3rd straight year, but I do not believe we will win by the lopsided scores that have been voiced on this thread.

 

Every time we play Dixie I get worried, simply because they are such a large school and have so many athletes to choose from. My common sense has a hard time rationalizing how a little 1A school can keep beating a 5A school year after year.

 

I respect their players and especially their coach. Our J.V. played their J.V. last year in 2 very close games. They won once and we won once. We are all aware of how close the Varsity game was last year.

 

The game tonight should be an awsome one and will probably not be settled until the very end.

 

Beechwood is (over-all) a faster and more athletic squad than last years team. I have high hopes for a repeat in Louisville this year and this game is just the first step on the road back.

I have, and they did not look very good yet. They have a nice kick returner and punter, but their tackling is bad.

Kidding about what??? That boy should have stayed with no uncertain doubt. Lets see 1a or 6a. The SK program is in great shape for the next several years. I would rather my kid play for a 6a school with a district championship than a 1a school that has no real competition in there district.

I would take the state championship. Only one of the discussed schools has a shot at that this year, or in the next 3.
