Wow, that is a pretty blanket statement for someone who does not even know me. You couldn't be farther from the truth. I believe that is the government's job to help those who cannot help themselves. I believe that they are there to help lead the effort to change and fix the problems in America. I believe in the government because the government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people." The government is a vehicle in which we can all come together to assert the changes that need to be made in this great nation of ours.

I said because their rights were violated. If they were violated a judge would have let them out by now. Maybe your thinking of those held at Gitmo as prisoners of war, even though they violated the Geneva Conventions, by not wearing military uniforms or being led by officers wearing uniforms.

RM with all due respect this is the one statement that anti gun politicians and others that are so decieved use all the time. That to take all guns is not their goal.....imo that is exactly what they want and they are trying to sugar coat it. One example would be their definitions of an automatic weapon. Their definition/limits on automatic weapon woud include common semi auto shotguns and rifles used in hunting.

No gun bans are ever going to work. It will lead to thousands of standoffs in this country. Just about everyone I know owns a handgun. I know plenty of people who own multiple AR-15's and AK-47's.

 

I'm actually ok with restircting some handguns. Because they are not much for house defense. They are to easily concealed by criminals. If your worried about house defense get yourself an AA-12, then noone will get into your home.

:thumb: I totally agree. Local and state police departments should be financed by local and state tax dollars. I would much rather pay higher local and state taxes than to pay federal bureaucrats to take my money and dispense it, with strings attached, and after taking their cut to local and state governments.
