I agree as well. Cynical wasn't claiming they had the toughest schedule. Just "a" tough one. And I'd say he's right.

Hey what I am telling you is the whole western side of the state has been the weakest for years their haven't been many state titles come out of the western side. If you will check the thread it is talking about the toughest 4A schedules Warren East is not in the same leauge as the other schools, they were never heard of until they moved in 4A. And I have checked my door and there is nothing there.:fight:

 

I have not been all that impressed with any teams from the West (besides the Louisville schools) in a few years since Hoptown was pretty good. Bowling Green has looked like a team that should not be in the finals the past two years.

 

Back to the topic, Lex Cath has the toughest schedule hands down.

On paper at least the LexCath schedule looks to be the toughest in the state this year regardless of class. Although I'm sure the NKY people will argue for CovCath and Highlands. Trinity could also make a case.

LexCath does play a tough schedule but, you're right, I would argue CovCath's is tougher. Here's 5 of the 6 non district games.

Fort Campbell finally won a State Title last year and that is great and I am not taking anything away from them the west is weak all ways has been. From 1987 thru 2006 how many teams from the west won a 3 A state title?

It doesn't say anything about winning a 4A state title you need to read it a little better. The thread is talking about the toughest 4A schedule in the state. The majority of the schools in 4A were 3A schools. I was using them as an example, that the west is weaker than the rest of the state. 3 Wishes you need to read back up the thread about how many schools from the west have a state title from 87-05 and we could probably go back further from 75-05. 79,80 Franklin Simpson, 85 PT, 86 Owensboro. There were a few other won won a State Title besides Cov Cath and Highlands. Boyle Co, Bell Co, Ashland, Conner, Danville, Loyd Memorial, Russell.

There may be a reason there aren't as many "great" 4A and above teams in the west side of the state, maybe because there aren't that many large population schools? And then they are separted by some good long drives.

 

To be the best, you have to play the best and beat the best. That's hard to do when your a 1.5 to 2 hour drive away from one another and MUCH easier to do when you're separated by 30 mile drives or less.

 

I'm not trying to take anything away from schools from the west, but central/eastern schools have an advantage when it comes to ease in developing a good and challenging schedule.

 

And, I would think Tilghman has had good teams in the last 20 years and they were playing 3A and scheduling teams like Bellville Althoff and Brentwood Academy. I think there was a time when they had difficulty finding teams willing to play them outside of districts, with of course the exception of Mayfield. But then again, maybe they were "playing up" since they are still in 3A after the re-alignment. Good luck Coach Wyatt and I hope you get the chance to change the minds of some people who think the end of the football world is slightly west of Louisville.

They play Sheldon Clark, Belfry, Prestonsburg,Letcher Central, Breathitt, Body County, and Greenup County.

It is tough especially when you were 1-9 last year. It doesn't matter who you play.
