August 21, 200818 yr I knew that was fake. I've never seen MMA fights where the crowd is surrounding the fighters. I've never seen that movie (Never Back Down) and I don't plan on it either. It looks incredibly stupid. It is. It's amazing what crippling boredom and availability can do to you though...

August 21, 200818 yr I believe it was actually Harrison that was sick and suffering in the 110 degree heat. The fight scene was to take all day to set up and shoot. Ford came up with this idea and it was over in less than an hour. From IMDB.com: The infamous scene in which Indy shoots a marauding and flamboyant swordsman was not in the original script. Harrison Ford was supposed to use his whip to get the swords out of his attacker's hands, but the food poisoning he and the rest of the crew had gotten made him too sick to perform the stunt. After several unsuccessful tries, someone made the off-handed remark, "Why doesn't he just shoot him and get it done and over with?" Steven Spielberg immediately took up the idea and the scene was successfully filmed.
August 21, 200818 yr Did you know that scene was improvised? Harrison Ford was supposed to use his whip to get the sword out of the swordsman's hand but he and several crew members were suffering from food poisoning leaving him unable to perform the stunt. Someone suggested he just use his pistol and the scene was shot that way. I do! Classic, turned out better than it could have.

It looks incredibly stupid. How do you know that was supposed to be an MMA fight?? Isn't it an illegal street fight??? Like old school Kimbo Slice only indoors... August 21, 200818 yr Another reason not to show off... http://www.weather.com/multimedia/videoplayer.html?clip=11784&from=hp_video_5 I hope he is okay. But that is what his stupid butt gets. He suffered spinal fractures, brain swelling, a broken rib and ankle and was in critical condition for quite some time. He has been upgraded to serious and is thankfully able to walk. Supposedly he wasn't trying to show off but instead had been kite surfing quite a distance off shore and was trying to come back in and unharness himself when a gust caught him too quickly for him to hit his emergency release.
August 23, 200818 yr How do you know that was supposed to be an MMA fight?? Isn't it an illegal street fight??? Like old school Kimbo Slice only indoors... Why would they wear gloves and MMA shorts in a street fight? And the Kimbo fights didn't have refs. It might be an "illegal street fight"...I wouldn't know because I'd never waste any time or money on that movie.
August 23, 200818 yr This was floating around emails yesterday, we viewed it at work. I love it. Reminds me of some sort of Fight Club.
