Putting Our Dog Down..

Featured Replies

So very sorry this is happening. At least we have this option for our pets.

That sucks man, I had to do it last year with our family dachshund after 14 years, it's horrible

I had to put mine down back in December. I know exactly how you feel.

We had to put our little dog to sleep in March. I feel your pain.

Daisy has been gone for 2 years now. It is the hardest thing....it feels as though you have lost a child. I still cry for her when I see Molly playing outside. My heart is really breaking for you right now.

My dog is having surgery this morning for something called "Hip Dysplasia". This past weekend he could not even walk. We are doing the pills now, with not much help to him. I called the Vet yesterday and he told me that he can do surgery on him to relieve him of his pain. My first thought was "How Much"? I was told $450 and I can make payments on it. I plan on going up to the vet this afternoon to see him. I was told that he will not be jumping around the farm, but he will be without pain after his surgery.

We had that option with our little pug. She had that. We tried the pills. No success, and we even tried baby Aspirin. The surgery was more at our vet and he couldn't guarentee any thing so we had to put her down. I hope it works out for you dog.

Thank You, I got a call from the Vet that everything went well with the surgery and should be able to come home Friday. I was told that it would take like 6 weeks to heel up, so I guess it's a waite and see.

In these days of times $450 might seem to be alot of money on a dog, but the love you will recieve back is very much worth the cost!

So very sorry for your loss.

Thanks for all the support guys..

I just got home from work and had a call from my mom balling her eyes out. I knew what it was about. They must have put her down while I was at work.

It hasn't hit me yet because I haven't seen where she's resting but I'm glad she's in a better place..

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Putting a dog down is probably one of the toughest things ever. I have seen my dad cry like a baby twice in his life, At my grandma's funeral and putting his first dog down. It is a horrible feeling.

It is a horrible feeling. My dad had to put his 1st dog down ( he got him when the dog was 6 weeks old) at 15years old. He cried and cried, it was awful. He felt lost for like a month.
