it was a good game between HC and Holmes but Holmes did win the game but did have the majority of varsity players playing major minutes. HC played well and I thought were extremely well coached with an excellent game plan. Eta Roh is pretty much right on with the players I think

Riley and Dom Johnson were the only kids who started and played for that matter as juniors on the JV level. Pittman, Arnold, and Jaydale Herndon starting JV isn't that big of a deal considering Pittman was a soph and Herndon and Arnold were Freshmen.

 

I wouldn't really consider those players varsity outside of Johnson and Riley considering they were upperclassmen. Willie Slusher also played JV as a junior but came off the bench. The majority of Holmes JV team was freshmen and sophomores.

I can't wait for this one. CCH vs HC at CovCath especially the JV game.. Remember last year the Indians took them down handily by 10 I believe. But the play to remember was with the clock ticking down Marcus Lee grabs rebound and takes it the lenght for a score. You talk about adding insult to injury. Then the coaches exchanged words, my money was on HC jv's coach. Buddy went to locker room with tail between legs. I can't wait for this one. Is HC JV coach still there?

 

No the new JV coach was supposed to be Shannon Minor, but their was some complications with the girls coach at Holy Cross, so Shannon is now the head girls coach. Their is not yet a JV coach for Holy Cross.

Everyone believes that since Coey Sorrell is gone HC has nothing. I have to disagree with this assumption. Last year HC was searching for someone else to step up and knock down a shot the entire season. This year they have alot of returning players that will be seniors and I think they will play more as a team this year. Holy Cross has nothing to loser this year so I believe they will shock some people.

I'm pretty sure Heardon was a Soph last year and a Junior this year. He attended HC his freshman year and transferred to Holmes.

I think some of the player's scoring ability on this year's team is a little bit overrated. I just don't see these kids being the scorers that many think, especially without a triple team on Sorrell.

This year's team will have a lot of experience and have played together since freshman year and some before. Also they will be very balanced and WILL have guys to score. I do have to agree with you to an extent just because a lot of this is very unproven and not much was shown this past year, but I think that once Giwa gains confidence in everyone and kicks the ball out when he drives this team could be very dangerous and surprise a lot of people. We won't know until the season starts and HC either puts up or shuts up! :thumb:

I think that Shina is at his best when the game is moving up and down the floor. He is very quick and can really make things happen in space. If this team is not able to play at a quick pace I believe they will really struggle this year.

I am going to agree, but looking at this years schedule for Scott, they too could have a 20+ win season. Totally agree about Shina though, very good player when in transition on the floor. Very good court vision and passing. Holy Cross will probably have a down year though. Even though they return a bit of experience, they are still a little low on the talent side. Not dogging on them at all! Wish them the best of luck this season.
