Simpson is a Cat

Fair enough. Bottom line is that neither you nor I KNOW what is going to happen on August 31. There are simply too many ???'s for both teams.

:thumb: There absolutely are alot for both. I am sticking with my Cats by 6 pick.

This is turning out to be one heck of a class!

You've got 18 more days so make the most of it while it last.

That's okay. UK is the underdog on the road. We aren't supposed to win, especially with the No. 1 quarterback in the land playing for the Cards (we all saw the thread where UL fans used Cantwell's projected draft status). However, you would be remiss if you didn't see that the last couple of seasons hasn't elevated UK's status in the recruiting world. You should win, you're the National Power and you're at home. I can only hope that UK can stay on the same field as UL. We bow down before your greatness.

Very nice get for UK. I know BK made a run at him to start the camp season, and he's a guy that's also heavily in the locate spread OL and find a C in the pack recruiter like most.

There simply isn't a big market for natural Cs out of HS, but Simpson comes off as the exception to the rule...

AWESOME!!!!!!!!Congrats to the Simpson family and the Cats! I'm excited for both!

Great pick-up for the Cats. Glad to see in state talent going to UK. Nice to see Ky players getting national recognition in HS these days.

Great for Samuel and a great pickup for the Wildcats!

Very good pickup for the Big Blue. :dancingpa

A lot of chatter that Morgan Newton is going to verbal to UK.

Wow!

MAN I'm still fired up about Simpson staying home for his fans to see him!

I was listening to 93.9 the Ticket here in louisville yesterday, the Front Row with Bozich and Easy.

A UK caller phoned in and said "the scuttlebutt is that the Cats are going to get Newton" or something to that effect. Easy was like "why? two good QB's in one year?"

I laughed out loud so hard. Then he just was like, well the recruiting has been good. Bozich chimed in with how the "trend line favors KY, especially in recruiting."

I said it before because I believe it - the tide has turned. UK just needs to BEAT UofL and then win 6-7 games to keep the momentum.

I am cautiously optimistic.

I've wondered this for awhile. Does Newton project well at any other position? If he's that talented (3-5 star depending on your source), I can't imagine committing somewhere that I'd have a legit shot of being beat out by someone in the same recruiting class. I'm sure it happens alot at the big time schools, but still.

Regardless, the more good recruits, the better.

Newton and Moss will be battle and compete against each other for the starting qb job if Newton does committ to the Cats as expected. Both will be better qb's in the long run if they compete against each other in college.

Both kids are big-time qb's and it will be nice to finally have two players with the talents that these two kids have to push each other every day in pratice.

Of course all of this is still in question because Newton has a lot of good options and may go in another direction....Though I will be very surprised if he chooses another school. All the other schools on his list have big time qb's in the program and will continue to land big-time qb's whether Newton chooses their school or not...That's Big-Time SEC Football.
