August 11, 200818 yr Not a Reds fan, but coming from an unbiased fan, I think this was the right move for the Reds. Barely over a month and a half left in the season, and no way the Reds could compete for even a wild card birth. You got a very young talented team, in which you would like to keep together, you now add some more talented young pieces to this puzzle, and free up around 20 mil. a year in cap room. Now go out this offseason land a couple nice free agent signings, and who will actually miss the donkey? :confused::confused:
August 11, 200818 yr Hey, I like Dunn. But it is time to blow the thing up and start again. In which, for the most part, the Reds have now. Dunn had an amazing July, and a pitiful August so far. Typical Adam Dunn, and typical Reds. They weren't going to resign him, the team is playing with no energy or effort. It's time for a change.
August 11, 200818 yr Kearns nor Lopez was anywhere near the level of Dunn Easy to say in hindsight. Many here were anointing Lopez the heir apparent to Larkin and we'd never need another ss for 10+ yrs.
