The Little League World Series

Featured Replies

It's that time of year again. The little guys get a chance to show off:thumb:

I love the Super Bowl, College World Series, Bowl Games and March Madness, but they all come in a close second to the Little League World Series.

I watch every game I can.

Anyone else a big fan ?

Yes, always have been.

I love watching the LLWS. The game in it's purest form, IMO.

How did the Bowling Green team do today? They would advance to the semifinals with a win today, and have a chance to play Saturday on ESPN if they can get into the regional finals.

They beat Jeffersonville, Indiana yesterday 16-6.

They play Mt. Vernon, Ohio in the semis tomorrow at 7:30.

I love the LLWS. This is baseball at it's best. Little guys playing their heart's out. What a game!!!!!

Absolutely, I love watching the LLWS. I watch it every year. I am so glad that now they have expanded their coverage to include the U.S. regionals like is on right now. They have done this the last couple of years or so. I personally would rather watch these kids playing the game than any MLB game. These kids are playing for all the right reasons...........the love of the game.

The Bowling Green East team has been quite successful. Their loss to Illinois earlier in the regional was the first loss for the group in two years. They're the #1 team out of the teams left, although they had not played the Ohio team. I'm really hoping that they can stay hot, with 34 runs in the last two games, and have outscored their opponents 43-11 in their three wins.

Little League World Series is always fun to watch, and it gives you a relief from having to watch the Reds.:creepy:

Great atmosphere, if you ever get a chance to attend.

I also love watching the LLWS. My only gripe is the short dimensions for the age group.

I enjoy watching the United States bracket. Difficult to watch the World bracket when you either have kids that are 6'4 or have full beards or both.

Absolutely love watching these talented kids and their love for the game!!

I do have to say, however, there are a few LL rules that I would love to see changed. I don't see the need to prohibit lead offs. I know the concern is that it would become a knothole "walk-becomes-a-triple" game, but these 12-13 year olds are just so talented, I don't see that happening. I think it's important for pitchers that age to begin to learn to pitch from the stretch. Additionally, dropped third strikes should played like real baseball. And lastly, I very much believe the distances need to be expanded from 60' to 65' or 70' on the bases and from 46' to 50' on the mound. Even hard hit ground balls are close plays at 1B due to the short distances. 60' base distance is very, very short. And 46' pitching distance is simply too close for kids this age and quality.

Again, however, I just love watching and really appreciate the quality of play by these kids. But I do think LL needs to make a few changes to keep up with the times and increasing quality of play by kids this age. Heck, if nothing else, use wood bats if you want to keep the game "pure."

Great atmosphere, if you ever get a chance to attend.
