August 5, 200818 yr I think it will be a very interesting off season for sure. In my opinion, in 2009 we may only see about three, maybe four, of the everyday starters that are here now. Bruce, Votto, and EE will be here for sure. All though it's not saying a whole lot, the pitching looks better than it has in along time. This Team needs a catcher, CF'er, and someone to play LF. I just don't believe the Reds will resign Dunn. Like alot of people, I believe you must be strong up the middle, starting with your catcher, SS, and CF'er, all of those postions, hopefully, will be filled by players not currently on the roster. The free agent pool doesn't look so deep for 2009, the one that does jump out at me is OF'er Carl Crawford. Would't mind seeing him in CF and batting leadoff, but he does have an option for 2009. Again, I believe it will be a very interesting winter. I think WJ will try to build this Team with speed, and good contact hitters. The Reds have proven, just because your Team is near the top in HR's, that doesn't mean you win. I look for Jacoby to be replaced for sure, not sure about Pole. Dusty will be back in 2009 for sure, unless of course he doesn't want to be.

I'd rather eat his contract than put him out there simply because we're stuck with him. We've been down that road too many times and we are where we are as a result.
August 6, 200818 yr Sad to say, but UK Mustang Fan's suggestion might be the closest to the truth. There are so many things not right about this roster, one off-season might not fix it. Are you SURE Bronson Arroyo shouldn't be hitting in the three hole? (Volquez getting rapped again...hope he's not another Wayne Simpson or Jack Armstrong) :eek:

August 6, 200818 yr You good with the catching situation? NO... My bad. Got distracted and left it off. That is one of the biggest needs. Some of the worse catching in the majors takes place up in Cincy.
