CalPreps Pre-Season Rankings(All Classes)

Featured Replies

I noticed a post earlier about the CalPrep Rankings. I dug around and they have a Top 30 list. They use stats like number of returning starters, returning QB, schedule, # of seniors, class, ect and spit out the rankings. Like all rankings its good for debate.

Danville not in the top 30???

Look at Pulaski County at #13?

Belfry a distinct #1 in 3A?

Scott County #5?

I wouldn't put to much thought into these rankings, they obviously did not put much leg work into it.

However, it won't be long until the Bluegrasspreps rankings, the real rankings, will be out. And, they are a little different this year.

It lost all credibility when it had WCentral at #8, ahead of BGreen...Guess they think they've found a way to overcome 60 points this year...Meade Co, Lincoln Co, Lone Oak and Daviess Co also have no business in there...

Warren Central ahead of Bowling Green?

Newport Catholic ahead of Fort Campbell?

Lone Oak?

Very odd rankings IMO.

Please don't take this wrong; I am NOT saying this will happen in your case. But I HAVE seen a 71 point turn around from one year to the next.

14 - 62 Loss

43 - 20 Win the next year against a VERY good team (the reigning state champion).

That's a 71 point turn around.

I know it can happen, but, WCentral is supposedely not going to be that great or that much better this year and they're coming off a losing record.

P.S. Welcome to BGP, WestKY#1!!

Gotcha. As you gathered, I was merely speaking of what could be possible. As to what "porbably" will happen, I defer to yours and others assessment.

Beechwood 22nd? with all that talent and size?? Just another example of what these polls...and player rankings are worth! As Nike says "Just Do It!"...on the field!

If we could get a link, that would be great.

While everyone wants to pound on the rankings right now, I did feel that the final rankings were pretty good at the end of the season. I do question how they are able to gather roster info from every team in the nation.

I would also think those issues have a lot to do with why team A is ahead of team B.

Maybe somebody in Kentucky should do a California pre-season poll and see how that turns out...

Well, actually they're coming off a 6-6 record, but the point is well made. Like I said in the other thread, someone lied to these people about Central.
