Birth Control in the Schools

Not immaterial as the implication above is that this is a normal action of teenagers.

And that is not true.

Many, many, many teenagers abstain from sex and teenagers are not going to have sex.

Some will but many won't.

He alluded or gave the impression that all did.

I want the teenagers reading this thread to NOT take the view from here that if they are NOT having sex, that they are some sort of weird case and one of the few.

Rather I want the teenagers reading this and choosing NOT to have sex to not buy into this crap that all teenagers are having sex and if they are not, then they just must be weird because everyone else is.

Rather they are the ones that should be held as the standard and applauded rather than fall for the company line to just fall in line with all the other teens.

It is a load of garbage.

I agree with all you said about teens reading this but the reality of the matter is more than not are having sex.

Sometimes when one see's their action on paper, its becomes hard to face. Denial is a funny thing my friend.

Yes, denial what you guys are facing when thinking teens don't have sex.

Only you read it as ALL teenagers are having sex. No one else did.

It would be naive to assume that the majority of high schoolers have not engaged in some form of sexual activity. You didn't. You're the exception.

I'd venture to say that it's between 40-60%. By the time they graduate quite a few kids have at least done it 1 time. My fellow SR members of the football team, quite certain they ALL had before we graduated

Ask him out of all his friends how many he knows for sure have had sex and how many haven't.

Next time I see him(we live some distance apart) I will. But I dare say a lot of his friends have at least got to second base or whatever they call it.

So, your little brother's friends are having sex. Or are saying they are.

Does he run with all the different crowds so that he can have an accurate say on all the different crowds?

My friends claimed to have sex with a lot of people they did not have sex with. Teenage boys make a lot of claims then what is actually true.

In addition, there is a difference between the number of 18, 19 year olds (teens) who are having sex and the pressure of saying teenagers are having sex on a 13 year old.

I read sex, I read intercourse.

Maybe for clarification we need to define what the bolded is, because that might be part of the issue in the debate.

You're really sticking to this whole "all teen guys lie" thing arent you?

Fine. Lets leave it as intercourse. THe number goes down but its still way more than I'm guessing you think it is.

I am saying sex not sexual activity. Thats a whole different thing. I am stick sticking with my 50%-70%.

I deal with them on a pretty regular basis.

I was one.

We lie.

A LOT!

I know that my little brother has at least had oral sex, because I spoke to him on the phone and answered questions after wards. My brother mingles around all crowds(at least I think he does).

All I am trying to say LBBC coach, is that it is not the end of the world is a teenager has sex. Its nothing to feel guilty over or be worry yourself about. If the school has taught all the angles, then they know that abstinence is 100% preventive, and that other steps can be taken if you choose to have sex. I think by making pre-marital sex or teen sex such a taboo issue, that you actually encourage the behavior.

what is the difference between sex and sexual activity?
