July 30, 200818 yr What's your take? Do you think it sends a wrong message to teen girls? & boys Some may say if you have it readily available in schools then more girls will think it's okay to have sex. &Boys Others say the kids are going to have sex anyway so why not have it available at a place they will be 5 days a week. It's okay if they have a parent note/call? I don't think it should be in schools. And, it's not just a "girl" problem.
July 30, 200818 yr I was just in HS not that long ago and I would say it is 50% at the lowest. 1 out of 2 is much much different than everyone is having sex.
July 30, 200818 yr I was just in HS not that long ago and I would say it is 50% at the lowest. Is that with the group you hung out with? Is that based on the "stories" you heard from guys having sex with girls? Is that based on you fitting in with all groups and knowing the sexual encounters of all those groups? The preps, the athletes, the farmers, the band geeks, the computer club, the business club, etc, etc, etc.
July 30, 200818 yr ^ None of the above. Thats about what it was at my HS. Ignore it all you want but its the truth.
July 30, 200818 yr 1 out of 2 is much much different than everyone is having sex. I never said everyone.

July 30, 200818 yr Not true. I didn't. Some will take their shots at me that it wasn't my choice, and those would be funny, but what you say is untrue. But rather a line from planned parenthood to support what they want to do. I applaud you for having the self control to do such a thing;it takes a lot. I however did not wait, and feel no worse for it. I don't have multiple sexual partners, nor am I willing to hop into bed with any women willing to spread her legs. I think kids make mistakes, that's a given. Yet I don't think teenage sex automatically is a bad thing.
July 30, 200818 yr Not true. I didn't. . Immaterial as the point Gooch was making is that the majority of teens are having some for of sexual relations.
July 30, 200818 yr Why would kids (you assume guys) lie on a written survey that is anonymous. Guilt? For Fun? Who knows? I don't trust any survey that says its anonymous!
July 30, 200818 yr Teenagers are going to have sex! We can do all we can to educate them on the risk, but in the end its nature Vs. everything else; and we all know that in many cases nature wins. So why not educate them and provide easier ways(that don't have to be distributed at schools) to obtain means to protect themselves. We can scream moral decay all day(a rhyme) but in the end this has been going on for quite some time, and will continue to go on. The best we as a society can do is educate about risks and prevention. Immaterial as the point Gooch was making is that the majority of teens are having some for of sexual relations. Not immaterial as the implication above is that this is a normal action of teenagers. And that is not true. Many, many, many teenagers abstain from sex and teenagers are not going to have sex. Some will but many won't. He alluded or gave the impression that all did. I want the teenagers reading this thread to NOT take the view from here that if they are NOT having sex, that they are some sort of weird case and one of the few. Rather I want the teenagers reading this and choosing NOT to have sex to not buy into this crap that all teenagers are having sex and if they are not, then they just must be weird because everyone else is. Rather they are the ones that should be held as the standard and applauded rather than fall for the company line to just fall in line with all the other teens. It is a load of garbage.
July 30, 200818 yr Guilt? For Fun? Who knows? I don't trust any survey that says its anonymous! No of that has ever crossed my mine when fillling someting like this out. You don't put your name on it or anything.

I am not saying all teenagers are having sex. Abstinence is probably a good idea in the long run. But if you can't wait, there is not guilt or shame in this. People are going to have sex, people aren't going to have sex...what you do in the bedroom or any other location; really shouldn't matter. Abstinence is a personal value, and personal values are not the school's place to teach. Teaching abstinence is fine, but lets teach all sides of the issue. The scare tactics no longer work.
July 30, 200818 yr No of that has ever crossed my mine when fillling someting like this out. You don't put your name on it or anything. Sometimes when one see's their action on paper, its becomes hard to face. Denial is a funny thing my friend.
