August 1, 200818 yr Heckuva series by the Cubbies. Great to have Soriano back in the lineup, he really is THAT important IMO. Can you think of a better three man rotation in the league than Zambrano, Dempster & Harden. Once Woody gets back rolling, we will be all set. The Cubs may not win the WS, but it's going to be a whole lot of fun watching these next couple of months. I've been disappointed enough to know not to get my hopes up, but at least I get to root for a team that has the talent and potential to take it all home.

They may not win it all, but they have as good a chance as anyone in the league IMO. Once you get to the playoffs, its ALWAY about pitching, you'd be hardpressed to find a recent World Series Champion that didn't have a dominant top 2-3 pitchers in their rotation. Lets stay healthy and make "next year" this year!:thumb:
August 1, 200818 yr The Brewers remind me of the Red Sox when the Yankees were spanking their tail in the late 1990s. They were always screaming for respect but couldn't get past the top team in their division. With that said, the Brewers need a few more vets in the clubhouse to lead the talented youngsters. Once they do that, I think they will turn out the same way the Red Sox have. The Brewers are close but simply fell apart in this series. The first 21 days of September will make or break the Cubs' season. I guess a sweep at the hands of the Pirates is likely now :lol:

August 1, 200818 yr Author You figured the Cubs would come back to earth, I just wish it would have happened against Houston. After getting so many runs via 2 out hits the last 5 days, the Cubs couldn't get ANY clutch hits today and lose 3-0. Everything does even out, that's what makes baseball great.
