July 29, 200818 yr Author Sabathia's pitch counts in his first four starts with Milwaukee ... 97, 122, 110 and 106. Nothing extraordinarily high ... He pitched near 130 tonight, his highest pitch count in 4 years. I wouldn't mind at all if he needed some rest in a month.
July 29, 200818 yr More than a little surprised "Signature Hop" didn't get dotted tonight... Why would they plunk Soriano?
July 29, 200818 yr He spent a lot of time admiring a double... In all fairness, I thought it was gone as well. To be honest, I figured he would tear his hammy hustling to 2nd base.
July 29, 200818 yr He spent a lot of time admiring a double... I'm sure Sweet Lou gave him a lot worse, and was much more effective than a beanball from the Brewers would have been.
July 29, 200818 yr He spent a lot of time admiring a double... Game wasn't broadcast down here, so I didn't know

July 29, 200818 yr In all fairness, I thought it was gone as well. To be honest, I figured he would tear his hammy hustling to 2nd base. And I'm sure Soriano watching the flight of the ball had a lot to do with that.
July 29, 200818 yr Great way to start off the series, now Big Z is on the hill for tonight's game. I cannot wait for Wood to get off the DL, one to have our closer back, and two to get Howry sent back down to AAA.

I cannot wait for Wood to get off the DL, one to have our closer back, and two to get Howry sent back down to AAA. Can Howry still be sent back to AAA? I would think he's been around long enough to refuse an assignment to AAA.
July 29, 200818 yr Can Howry still be sent back to AAA? I would think he's been around long enough to refuse an assignment to AAA. Not sure but they can release him or burry him down in the bullpen and only use him in mop up duty or to save arms if we're getting blown out, he just sucks
July 29, 200818 yr Author Since I'm not up early enough to listen/watch Mike and Mike in the morning, I have to watch the Best Of stuff that airs later in the day. When talking about the game last night, Greenburg just mentioned the pitch count thing and how it might become an issue. Not that he is the end all, be all, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one possibly noticing this. Alright, I won't talk anymore about pitch counts unless Harden hits 100 on Thursday.
July 29, 200818 yr It could mean the Brewers have no intention on resigning him after the season and figure they might as well work him hard while they still have him

So the Brewers might as well work him as much as they can.
