Vaught said Fidlers friend was fighting & Fidler stepped in to defend him when the fight escalated. If that's true then this is no big deal. Not that it's a major one if it's not true.

WKYT's report is that it was outside a "pizza restaurant." Not saying he couldn't have been drinking there too, but definitely a different situation than being at a bar.

I agree with you there. I just don't understand these kids - I mean, you have a golden opportunity - take advantage of it. There are so many kids out there that wish they would have those opportunities. That's why I feel as though when a kid 15 - 19 years old in high school quits his team because the season is going bad or they just don't like what their coaches tell them - thenso be it - see ya and don't come back. These kids have got to realize what they have and in all reality they are young men - so act like it - don't be a disgrace to your team and school and most of all your family.

:thumb::thumb: Very well said, some of these kids are pampered to way too much in high school and when they get to the next level they expect it there and can't handle it if it doesn't happen, and it usually don't. These kids have to realize that everyone is good on the next level or they wouldn't be there. College teams are full of high school all stars that are as good or better than them.

Having said that, it really should not effect their behavior "off the field" and in the community. You hit the nail on the head when you said that they have to realize they are representing their school, community, teammates, coaches, family and themselves and their actions reflect on all.

The sad thing is..................if either of these kids throws a TD pass against Louisville all will be forgotten by most.

 

:thumb: I can understand what you are saying and for the most part agree. I will say as others have that this (I beleive) is Fidler's first offense. I am not saying forget it, he should be held accountable and diciplined for sure. I would not have him playing in the U.L game at all and probably suspended for a certain amount of games. I don't know what Brooks will do on this or the other situation but I do look for him to come down on both. Pulley may be gone and I frankly think that he should be. This kid (Fidler) imo should not be kicked off the team now but definately diciplned hard and if he doesn't like it then he could hit the road as well.

This obviously is not my or anyone else's on here decision and we will have to see what happens.:thumb:

Pulley is the one I am most disappointed in. He's already been given multiple chances to get his act together.

I think this is just bad timing for Fidler with the Pulley thing going on, but I think this thing will blow over if we really know the whole story.

Still unblievable to me the number of kids that have the talent to play college football and get a scholly along with a free (or almost free) college education then disrespect it, their team, school, coaches and waste it away. This is one of my "soapbox" subject about the arrogance and stupidity of some kids :irked:.

 

Having said that I will say that there are some very good ones as well and imo it is shame that we don't hear more stories about them.

Even if he was drinking, that'd mean he's acting the same as probably more than 3/4 of hte other under age college students in the US. Not saying it's ok, but drinking alcohol when your 20 IMO, doesn't make you a bad person just because you aren't 21.

The whole "defending his friend" is as hearsay as the drinking at this point.

I think its pretty pathetic how everyone on here is saying he was drinking and ready to behead the kid. He's 20, a kid, and altercations happen in college
