The season starts a week later this year (Aug 29) and that makes the final regular season game th week of Nov 7.

 

So the finals will be Dec 12 & 13.

Have you ever had to sit/work through all these games when it is cold as crap??? Ok so I don't really have to be out in the cold :lol::lol: but those poor fans do and it makes me cold!!

I agree that's too late for the finals. One of these years they're going to have to play the most important games of the year in 4 inches of snow. I wouldn't object to moving the season up one week, but here's my solution: It's time to take the open date out of the schedule. Go back to playing 10 games in 10 weeks, and the finals will be right back where they've been.

I like the dates. I'll be the first to admit it's selfish... exams end on the 12th.

Personally I hate the season being pushed back. Its gets into basketball, and we can't do anything with pads until August 1st. The worst thing in the football world is summer football, IMO. I loved having the first game around August 15th. But I don't make the rules.

Let the fans bundle up. The kids don't care. The press gets to stay warm. All beat the heck out of the kids potentially dying in mid-august games.

My gut feeling would be that they're against it on principle, but it hasn't really been discussed much so it's hard to say. There was a reasonably good reason for creating it a few years ago. IIRC, it had to do with early-season scheduling of bowl games when the start date was pushed up to mid-August, because some schools weren't allowed to play that early at the time. But it isn't necessary for that circumstance now, and there's really no other reason to keep it. ("Just because we want to" doesn't qualify.)

I don't think the game-by-game schedule has been set yet. If it has, I've missed it.

The was some talk last year about it flipping this year:

 

Friday: 2A, 4A, 6A

Saturday: 1A, 3A, 5A

 

I'm not sure if that is the case, though. They might want to keep 6A on Saturday night.

The game dates and times have now been set. The order of games is the same as last year:

Friday, 1A, 3A, 5A

Saturday, 2A, 4A, 6A

 

All start times are 30 minutes earlier, so the games are at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. & 7 p.m.
