July 25, 200818 yr From CTR... "Kenny’s going to be fine," David Irons said on Friday. "It’s a minor set-back, it has to be done for the team. For roster and salary cap purposes." David Irons said he expects his son to clear waivers and then be put on the Bengals' reserve list, which would end his season. Guess I could go for that.:thumb: His injury must of been one of the worse ones you can have.

Wonder what it is that has made his injury so much worse than the typical ACL tear in which players come back - albeit perhaps not a full strength - in a little over a year.
July 25, 200818 yr Author I don't want Shaun here either, but the timing of this makes me think they are going to bring someone in before, or at the start of camp...
July 25, 200818 yr From what I understand, Kenny Irons is in a little bit of financial trouble too - somehow. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Irons hasn't played a down of professional football.
July 25, 200818 yr I don't want Shaun here either, but the timing of this makes me think they are going to bring someone in before, or at the start of camp... But, this move gets them down to the camp required number of 80. If they do bring someone else in, then they have to cut someone else.
July 25, 200818 yr If Irons could have stayed healthy he could have been a big help. I always liked the way he played at Auburn, hopefully he clears waivers and the Bengals can be put on IR
July 25, 200818 yr If Irons could have stayed healthy he could have been a big help. I always liked the way he played at Auburn, hopefully he clears waivers and the Bengals can be put on IR :thumb: I agree here. I also wanted to comment on this Bengal management .....again! They keep and/or give the "jailbirds" or thugs different chances and jump at the chance to release Irons. I understand about the injury and all and I fully admit that I don't know what all is involved with this, if anything else. I just can't help but read stuff like this, and remember the 2nd chances, reinstatements they gave some that were accused, convicted of crimes and that are common thugs and I have to say...."and the Bengals are wondering why they are losers "? I believe that the answer to that question is sitting in the front office.
July 25, 200818 yr I'm pretty sure we as BGPers could draft better than the Bengals. This cut is a suprise. There is something else there. I'm buying the Shaun coming home ticket too.
July 25, 200818 yr Feelings are he will clear waivers and be placedon the Bengals Reserved squad, so he may not be gone.
July 25, 200818 yr When do the Bungle fans start calling for Lewis's replacement? How many draft picks have they had since Lewis has been there (not counting this year)? I am guess around 40 which would mean about 50% of the guys they have drafted aren't even playing in the NFL.

July 25, 200818 yr How dare they not know the future... According to what you posted earlier, there are 24 draftees in the last 5 years not with the team. What does that say? A lot of wasted draft picks.
