June 26, 200818 yr By JESSE McKINLEY The New York Times SAN FRANCISCO — Reagan has his highways. Lincoln has his memorial. Washington has the capital (and a state, too). But President Bush may soon be the sole president to have a memorial named after him that you can contribute to from the bathroom. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2008015905_sewer25.html
June 26, 200818 yr Another black eye for San Franciscans. Petty stunts like this just reenforce its stereotype as a city of left wing wackos.
June 26, 200818 yr I am not a Bush fan, but this is certainly inappropriate. Surely, if it goes to ballot, it will fail.
June 26, 200818 yr Water-treatment plant could be named after President Bush: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,372303,00.html
June 26, 200818 yr ^ I can see all of these now, right next to the Clinton Cigar Shop, Byrd's "white sheet" Bedding Sale, Teddy's One Stop Liquor and Lottery Center, Plus, the "Kennedy No Tell Motel" will even drive her home iover "the bridge over troubled water" if requested..... I was obviously making a joke/jokes. All are inappropriate imo.
June 29, 200818 yr While I chuckled at the story, it is ultimately inappropriate, and I hope it will be reconsidered. Regardless of what bozo occupies the Oval Office, the office of the presidency itself should be respected. But please, the thought of a GWB library is unthinkable.
June 29, 200818 yr Childish. Doesn't surprise me though. I know it's difficult, but it's OK to admit you were wrong with where you sent those campaign checks. If it means anything, most of your friends have washed their hands of the current idiot occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But if it helps, HE is still holding up the banner against the hurricane.
June 29, 200818 yr We all know that I am not and never will be a "W" fan. We also know that my sense of humor makes me think that this is just a HOOT. Now all that being said, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do this. Even if he actually does deserve this honor, IMO, we shouldn't do this to a president.
June 29, 200818 yr Aside from the message liberals would be sending to Bush by naming a sewage treatment plant after him, what kind of message does it send to the people who work in the wastewater treatment field? If San Franciscans go along with this silly proposal, then I hope Bush attends the ribbon cutting ceremony and uses the opportunity to thank all people who work in jobs like sewage treatment, solid waste disposal, etc. who apparently get no respect from liberal Democrats. I think that this would be fertile ground for Republicans to harvest a few votes.

Thanks for confirming my opinion. How's the weather in San Fran? Edited June 29, 200818 yr by 75center
