It's called being young, alone, poor and hungry. They find someone who pretends to care for them and convinces them that the way to survive is to become a prostitute. It's a choice for some prostitutes, but it's not a choice for all prostitutes.

I'm saying that if you are raped, molested at home (like many people who turn to prostitution are) you might finally build up the nerve to run away. If you run away, you might find yourself lonely, hungry, scared etc. Someone who has been a victim of rape/molestation, and is hungry/scared/lonely might be an easy target for prostitution don't ya think?

Many times the women who engage in prostitution do not have a choice. They are out on their own with no money and they are tricked into prostitution as a way of making money. A lot of prostitutes are also former rape/molestation victims if I'm not mistaken.

I would not say that I was "wrong". Maybe I chose the way I worded the post poorly. I did not mean that to be interpreted literally as "no choice". What I meant was that some women and probably some men are more prone to being coerced into prostitution than others. For some the choices that are available are limited and when someone who is very convincing comes a long promising many things it doesn't seem so bad. I'm not saying they literally have ABSOLUTELY NO CHOICE.

BUT, I still have not gotten to the point that I clearly think it is a conflict.

 

The criminal, knowingly and willfully, gave up his right to have his life protected by breaking a rule that this society has. It was his choice and is more along the lines of a suicide than an abortion.

LBBC, the problem is that the death penalty is not always applied evenly at every crime where life is taken. If a prosecutor can't get a Murder One conviction he/she will sometimes opt out for a lesser crime where the death penalty won't be an option.

 

Some people have spent years on death row and were innocent. So for that 1% or less of the innocent ones, I see it important to take the horrible option of death despite innocence out of the equation. Simple and clear to me.

 

As to Jesus, he did not speak against abortion either but I think we both know where he would side on that issue. He did say if another strike you to offer him the other side. If he demands a coat, give him the inner garment to. He also told Peter in the garden, "Those who take up the sword will die by the sword." Simple and clear to me. :thumb:

Would you want your daughter/sister/niece/friend to become a prostitute? Hey, its legal and they can make good money. Someones someone is. Its wrong and the Bible says so, so is abortion. I have verses if someone wants to view them.
