The lineup is arguably the greatest team of all time, the 1976 Big Red Machine with Danny Driessen at DH. You are the Manager/GM and can pick ANY pitcher in the history of the sport to face them. From Cy Young to Roger Clemens. From Big Train Walter Johnson to Nolan Ryan Express. From Bob Gibson to Todd Coffey:D. Who would you pick to be the one pitcher you would want to send to the mound to face that lineup? And of course, why?
June 19, 200818 yr In his prime, an absolute nightmare for any Reds' team...equally effective against lefties and righties. If a hitter was not consumately disciplined at the plate, he had no chance. I think he was something like 14-0 against the Reds at one time at Riverfront alone.

I think if anyone could keep the BRM off balance, Glavine could have done it.He seemed to have had some Riverfront Stadium voodoo spell in his pocket that would render his opposition helpless. I wouldn't think it a stretch that he could have put up 9 donuts against the BRM. Also, not a stretch to think that the BRM could have nailed some of Gibby's flameballs. Gibby was a much too easy pick.
