June 16, 200818 yr I don't think anyone will ever replace Russert but if NBC had a guy that could at least do a manageable job right now I would say David Gregory is the guy. He is a tough interviewer and always comes off respectful, fair, and as an equal opportunity griller so to speak. Meet the Press is the longest running show in the history of television and it's certainly not going anywhere. Tim's son Luke was on Today this morning and he is something else. If he goes into journalism I would not be shocked to see him in his Dad's chair someday. He seems to have the same attitude his Dad does and was very down-to-Earth.

I may have watched MTP for the last time. :thumb: Same here Ace, I am done with it as well, especially since a couple of the names that I have heard for a relacment are an abolute embarrassement to T. Russert. This morning I heard K. Olberman and K. Couric mentioned along with T. Brokaw coming out of retirement untill they name a replacement. Should it be any of those they might has well call it "Meet The Liberals" or "Obama,inc." On election night now I may not watch any coverage an just check the late, late news to see who wins.

Every kid in the world wants to be loved by his dad and wants that constant affirmation. If you're AFRAID or EMBARRASSED to kiss your son on the cheek or to say outloud "I love you, son" you are missing a great opportunity to let your son know that its not easy and you'll always be there and no matter what , you're proud of him. I've got a son that can whip me whenever he wants yet he always gets a kiss, a hug, and an "I love you." I never know when its the last time I'll have the chance to say it so I don't take a chance. Don't be a fool.

June 18, 200818 yr The memorial for Tim Russert today was very touching.His son's speech was great, and his brother-in-law's guitar playing was incredible.
