June 3, 200818 yr Oh well, at least we now have support for the belief that elitism exists on both sides of the political aisle...
June 3, 200818 yr I'd have voted for Cheney in a heartbeat for president, even if he is a bit sinister. Maybe even BECAUSE he's a bit sinister?
June 3, 200818 yr :thumb: I agree, it really makes one wonder if he was drunk. That statement coming from a vice president or any other elected official for that matter was just (like I said)....Stupid. Nah, he shoots people when he's drunk.
June 3, 200818 yr Oh well, at least we now have support for the belief that elitism exists on both sides of the political aisle...:laugh: We were just talking about another that was trying to be funny, don't add to it. Besides, Cheny's arrrogance does not come close to the elite/arrogant atitude of Obama or Bill Clinton. Obama is just a better speaker than Cheney and it really doesn't matter to me what Ol' Cigar Clinton says, I believe that everyone knows that he is a joke. June 3, 200818 yr Senator McCain should demand that Cheney apologize immediately and Cheney should oblige. I honestly believe that the people of West Virginia and eastern Kentucky invite jokes like this by tolerating them and holding Hillbilly festivals. You cannot exploit the Hillbilly image for tourism's sake and make Dukes of Hazzard reruns among your top rated TV shows and expect much respect from people outside the area. If a few thousand West Virginians marched in Washington, politicians would not feel safe making jokes like this one. It has never happened and I do not expect it to happen this time. Instead Jay Rockefeller will knock fellow senators out of the way to be the first to condemn Cheney's comment (Sen. Byrd is ailing). Don't forget the regrettable "Mama's Family." :creepy:
June 3, 200818 yr Nah, he shoots people when he's drunk. That wasn't his fault :irked:, why was that guy (the victim) wearing feathers and trying to fly.:lol:
June 3, 200818 yr Nah, he shoots people when he's drunk. Maybe he should practice his aim before he takes another cheap shot at W.VA.
June 3, 200818 yr Seriously...an off color joke, but what's the big deal? At least he has a sense of humor... :sssh:
June 4, 200818 yr :laugh: Besides, Cheny's arrrogance does not come close to the elite/arrogant atitude of Obama or Bill Clinton. Obama is just a better speaker than Cheney and it really doesn't matter to me what Ol' Cigar Clinton says, I believe that everyone knows that he is a joke. (lol) Really? Have you forgotten the incident with Sen. Leahy?
June 4, 200818 yr I had a WV roommate in college. We used to tell jokes to him. What is birth control in WV? Running away from home. Another dumb comment. He was much, much funnier when he explained away Hillary's comment on landing under sniper fire in Bosnia by saying that she got it mixed up with the hunting trip he took her on. NOW THAT WAS FUNNY!
June 4, 200818 yr I very seldom venture into this forum, so I apoligize if this has already been posted. What are everyone's thoughts on Cheney's comments? Vice President Dick Cheney Monday made a familiar joke about people who live in West Virginia while speaking to the National Press Club in Washington D.C. Cheney was explaining how he is a distant cousin to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. "We'd always known about the Cheney family line on my father's side of the family, back to Massachusetts in the 1630s. My grandmother was named Tyler but it turned out she was descended from a Richard Cheney, same last name, who landed in Maryland in the 1650s," Vice President Cheney said. "So I had Cheneys on both sides of the family -- and we don't even live in West Virginia. You can say those things when you're not running for re-election." http://www.wsaz.com/news/headlines/19465149.html His pace maker must have skipped a beat or the fumes from all that oil he's rolling in must have clouded his mind...... Then again he probably just "MISSPOKE".:lol::lol:
