June 5, 200818 yr Barring an explosion, is there any way Volquez isn't the NL starter in the All-Star game? He's unbelievable. If he could gain just a bit more command, he'd probably have 3-4 CG's already. While you make a good point, I'll agree with AJG on the fact that being a bit wild is why he's having more success than Cueto at this point. He's ahead of the curve on learning how to pitch at this level, and he just needs to be a little more consistent on the corners with some of his stuff...
June 5, 200818 yr Yes. Brandon Webb is 10-2, and has been around a little longer. You also have to figure in when the pitchers have pitched leading up to the game. I'll buy point 2. On point 1, you're being a HOMER...
June 5, 200818 yr Patterson blows.. He does, but he shouldn't be hitting 2nd if he has to play. What's wrong w/: Hairston Bruce BP Dunn EE Votto Patterson Bako
June 5, 200818 yr I am looking forward to the draft tomorrow. Is there anyone at #7 you guys would like to see the Reds get?
June 5, 200818 yr He does, but he shouldn't be hitting 2nd if he has to play. What's wrong w/: Hairston Bruce BP Dunn EE Votto Patterson Bako Looks good with a RHP on the bump...
June 5, 200818 yr He does, but he shouldn't be hitting 2nd if he has to play. What's wrong w/: Hairston Bruce BP Dunn EE Votto Patterson Bako He is still in there.
June 5, 200818 yr Should have hit Janish for Hayes... :irked: Patterson must have compromising pictures of Dusty somewhere. Either that or Dusty sucks even worse than I thought when he was hired.
June 5, 200818 yr I am looking forward to the draft tomorrow. Is there anyone at #7 you guys would like to see the Reds get? The Pitcher from San Diego.
June 5, 200818 yr I am looking forward to the draft tomorrow. Is there anyone at #7 you guys would like to see the Reds get? I've been tracking a few guys, but it's hard to tell with no clear cut guys at the top few spots. I do expect a college guy if they go with an impact position of need like a SP, OF or SS...
June 5, 200818 yr He is still in there. That's why I said if he has to play. Dusty has shown us that if he's w/ the big club he's playing.
June 5, 200818 yr Great draft blog from CTR... http://www.thelotd.com/ctrent/blog/2008/06/03/reds_look_to_duplicate_recent_draft_success
June 5, 200818 yr I am looking forward to the draft tomorrow. Is there anyone at #7 you guys would like to see the Reds get? Some guy from baseball america was on Lance today and said the Reds are looking seriously at a SS from Georgia that could be in the big leagues in 18 months to 2 years if they can get him signed and in rookie league pronto.
June 5, 200818 yr Author I'll buy point 2. On point 1, you're being a HOMER... There's no doubt I'm a homer when it comes to Brandon, but if you think that Clint Hurdle won't take into consideration Brandon's past two years, and his 3-0 record against him this year then you're mistaken. By the way, I'll be getting my 3rd All Star program with his autograph this year. This one will be extra special if he starts, and add to the fact that it's the last year of Yankee Stadium.
June 5, 200818 yr Jr. is my favorite player. No doubt. But the lineup tonight at the end of the game with Dunn, Hairston and Bruce in the outfield with Keppinger taking over at shortstop when he returns with E5, Brandon and Votto filling out the infield was a nice lineup.
