Saw some really good action yesterday at the UK Elite Camp with about 100 players from around the country in attendance. Hard to see everybody with 5games going on at the same time. Although very good players I saw in Hood, Phares, Dominique Ferguson, Avery, Penny, Euton, Jackson, Guyn, among others, there is one who stood above the crowd.

6'5" Terrance Boyd out of San Jose, California who plays HS ball in Norman, Oklahoma. Watched him play three or four games and he must have had 12 dunks. Dunked one on a fast break over Euton that bounced off his head after being tomahawked through the rim so hard. Wonder it didn't cause brain damage. This guy is built like Charles Atlas but yet has tremendous handles and one on one moves and can jump out of the gym. He thinks everytime he goes to the basket it must be a dunk and many times it is. He can rebound it and fly to the other end in a split and slam it before you can blink (has some after burners). Without a doubt the best pure athlete I saw on the court (ala Darrell Griffith with his explosiveness). Ask him where he wanted to play and he said UK. I for one hope that is the case!!!! I hadn't even heard of this guy before yesterday, but he showed up big on everyone's radar screen yesterday. Quite an impressive athlete.

Have others seen him play before and what are your thoughts??

Saw on the scout board where Jacob Jenkins is putting on a shooting clinic. Went for 33 or 34 on Euton, Jackson, Avery, and Shaq Wilson's team in an overtime win.

Boyd is a Top 50 type prospect for 2009, but his grades are a big time concern. Some talk out there he might be playing for Oak Hill next season...

Didn't he already try that route once? I believe he played with Legion at O.H.

Ranked 38 on the service I looked at. Looked about 24 in the picture (but no beard)....reminiscent of King James.

Not sure. I've seen him a few times, but he's not a kid I've followed regularly...

Is Kentucky actively recruiting Jenkins?

There is a complete list of all the players who are attending the Elite Camp. Over 100 players and quite a few in-state players.

Rumors out there that Daniel Orton showed up today.

They have him listed at #49 small forward for class of 2009. The way he can handle the ball he may be more of a #2 if he could improve his outside shot. Not sure how good an outside shot he has as he only took a few. Most of the time driving in for lay-ups or dunking on drives whether on the break or in the set offense. The few he did take didn't look real good from the 18-20 foot range. But he sure knows how to get to the basket and finish in dramatic fashion with an exclamation mark.

Ask the kid where he was from and he stated San Jose, California. Listed him playing HS ball in Norman, Oklahoma. Notice he did play at Oak Hill as a sophomore. Also agree with the comment looking older. He looks 4-6 years older than even the 17 or 18 year old kids on the court. May have some off court issues that scare some away. But, one thing for sure, he has tremendous athleticism and talent. His vertical must be somewhere around 40inches or so. He has speed, quickness, and is strong as an ox. Probably would make a great NFL running back if he had chosen football.

The Elliott Lions are well represented .:thumb:
