And that's why you don't want to use Harang and Volquez for 6 innings. Brutal L, and now your rotation is in shambles trying to recover...

Not as bad as it might seem. I imagine the rotation will look like this.

Tuesday-Cueto

Wednesday- Arroyo on 3 days rest

Thursday- Fogg or perhaps Maloney

Friday- Harang

Saturday- Volquez

Sunday- Cueto

Brutal L is right, but I don't think the rotation is in as bad of shape as you think. Harang is an absolute workhorse and Volquez didn't throw too many pitches tonight.

Yep. Unfortunately, Dusty manages and you don't.

While I agree, the problem is that the Reds play 20 games in 20 days after tomorrow's day off.

Rest assured that if Freel was in center he may have flipped over the wall. The guy is a terrible baseball player but he goes after everything.

"terrible" is a little strong for someone hitting over.300.

Who should not be on this roster come Monday(sorry, Buffet) ?

Matt Belisle.

Corey Patterson.

Scott Hatteberg.

David Ross / Paul Bako / Javier Valentin (you get to pick 1).

David Weathers.

More to follow...

Belisle and Patterson have to go. Other than that I think they are fine for now...

Brutal loss for sure. But I have no problem using those two, the Reds needed this game bad. CP, and a host of others should be a little worried, stormy included.

I would be happy with that, although I think we need to get rid of a catcher, also.

How can you justify having 3 mediocre catchers? At least Javy is a switch-hitter.

I think, as I said last week, Stormy should be here but it should not be in the setup role. Affeldt has earned that role IMO...

That will be more of a strain on the bullpen than the starting rotation. Now a rain out, and a doubleheader could put a serious strain on the rotation.

Javy isn't really a C. He's a solid bench bat that happens to play C and 1B...

I'll gladly trade places with any of them. 20 games in 20 days, sign me up. Oh, and I'll take the minimum.

They need to drop Hatty...bring up another reliever. Maybe Majewski...

Patterson has to go. Isn't Hopper about ready to come off DL?

Lincoln?

Why they carry three catchers is beyond me.

Still a winnable division....but the status quo can not exist.
