I'd really like to know how you beat me to that.

I'd like to go on record as saying Obama is a racist, and I'll drive anyone in Pike Co. to a voting booth as long as they cast a vote for Hillary.

Are you telling me that just because Obama attended a racist black liberation theology church for 20 years that he is a racist? That sounds like guilt by association to me.

The next thing that you are going to tell me is that the fact Obama has hung out with unrepentant terrorists like Bill Ayers and his wife and just because Hamas and FARC support his candidacy, Obama will be softer on terrorism than McCain. Is it fair to judge a man by the people who associate with him and those who support him?

I believe it is. :thumb:

Well, I guess you can call me all of these things too because I've decided to support Barrack Obama for president.

^I'm curious to know the deciding factor in your decision.

In liberal America you can discriminate and be semi-racist as long as you aren't caucasion.

I'm ready for change. I don't think it'll come from Hillary or John McCain. I supported Bill Clinton and even campaigned for him when he was running for president.

I like the message of bringing all people to the table. Growing up through the turbulent '60's and '70's have me hungry for all people working together to make it better for everyone.

I have thought long and hard about this decision. It really is not about me. I've lived my life and have worked hard to get where I am. I'm thinking about my children and grand children.

For most of my life this country in one form or another has been involved in some type of war. I don't want to see my sons or grandson's going off to fight a war that shouldn't been fought. That's why I support Senator Obama's position of talking to both friend or foe.

Voting is very important things to me. My mom and dad always said that voting is one of the most important things an american can do. So it warms my heart to see so many young people involved with politics. I give credit to both Senator's Clinton and Obama for that.

I like Senator Obama's straight talk. It really impressed me that he didn't go for the gas tax holiday. I thought he really would. This showed me that he's not just another politician.

I'll be 50 years old in a month. I'm just tired of the old divide and conquer politics that are going on right now and have gone on all of my adult life.

This are just some of the reason's I will continue to support Barack Obama for President of the United States.

1st Bold - I'm not a war mongerer, nor do I believe our strategy in this War Against Terror is effective. But Obama's beliefs, idealism, and politics could provoke an even worse war. One fought on American soil, or even worse, Civil war. I agree with you on diplomacy among friend or foe.

But Barack Hussein Obama refuses to place his hand on his heart during the National Anthem. He refuses to honor the flag even as discreetly as wearing a Flag pin on his lapel. This WILL upset many irrational Americans and to be honest I'm afraid he will become a martyr. That isn't good for anyone who calls themselves Americans regardless of ethnicity.

2nd Bold - I think young people ought to be involved in voting, but I'd rather voters be informed voters regardless of age. Too many voters today are uninformed, and to me their is no excuse in that because of all the routes available to be informed. Older people vote straight Democrat/Republican because that's what there parents told them. Younger people vote on impulse or because of the influences on them from the media (who more often than not are biased in their editorials).

3rd Bold - If Obama were white and was quoted as saying "that's typical of black people" would he still be your candidate?

4th Bold - Will Obama being elected as President do more to unify our country or divide its people. In my opinion, if a person is truly concerned about this country as a whole, undivided, unified country of "American citizens" this is what they must ask themselves.

I happen to be of the opinion that Obama is neither capable nor is he striving to unite this country's people.

Question: I see many people standing for the national anthem, who don't put their hands over their hearts. Oddly, I see even more who are talking, wearing thier hats, or generally not paying attention at the time. I don't personally think not putting one's hand on one's heart when the anthem is played is worse than any of the examples I've noticed, do you?

Same with those who think he refuses to wear a flag pin on his lapel.

No, but I probably wouldn't vote for those people if they ran for president.

If possible, could we attempt to address the first post and not get off topic?

Would be nice.

JD,

Do you happen to know where one could find the video of Obama in Virginia when his teleprompter failed?
